Good Afternoon!

I'm up, I'm up... And I've been on the phone with Verizon's billing department for the past hour... Grrrr....

They make me crazy. If you have to use your pin number to change something on your account and don't know it, they have no way of giving you a clue as to what it might be. We finally had to go to a store in person and reset the pin #. I texted it to myself so now I should have it for awhile.

Thank you for the beautiful cake, Jane! I will have real cake at my mother's annual spaghetti dinner. Her partner makes the spaghetti and mom is in charge of cake, which means Publix. For some reason, she shuns the yummy cakes from the French bakery.   :-\

Good luck Jose & thanks again for the heads up on TCM.  I've set a few of the movies to record, there are sooo many to chose from I let Keith do it.  Now I'm going to add a few more for my viewing :)

Thanks, DR Jane, and Your Welcome.

And it really took me a full hour to get the problem resolved.  A full hour and seven different CSRs!  It's not worth going into the details, but...

1) If you are billed on one bill for two different services, then why can't you call ONE number to have both service disconnected?

2) What exactly is the difference between a "Finance Department" and a "Billing Department"?  I believe I spoke to two of each over the course of the hour.

3) If the account number matches the phone number, then why create a different account number for phone number once the service was disconnected?  -Without notifying the customer of such a change at the time of request of disconnection of service.

4) Once they've confirmed disconnection of service, why do they finish the phone call with, "Are there any other Verizon services that I could help you with?"  ::)

Ah, Publix!  -Most of their stores have a small display of English goods - including English Cadbury bars. :)

Oh... And...

5) How come the name on the physical paper bill did not match the name in their computers?  -That confused EVERYONE.

DR Ginny - Once your levels level out consistently for a period of two or three weeks, then your requested doctor visits should become less frequent.

Yes.  End of rant.  Well...

6) Even though I had the confirmation code from when the service was disconnected back on January 11, they still had to bring up the original account information to "review the details".  Of course, since the account was now "disconnected" and "suspended"(?), only certain CSRs had access to the various details of the account.  The Key: "Push 1 - Three Times."

END OF RANT.

So what name was on the paper bill and what name was in the system?

Oh... Here's where it got even more confusing...

-The name in their computer system was the name of the former roommate who set up the account six years ago.
-The name on the paper bill was "transferred" over to another roommate four years ago, and to another roommate last year (after each roommate moved out accordingly).  But, somehow, those successive names were never transferred over in the Finance Department's records.  However, they were transferred over in the Billing Department's records.  -So, apparently, there is a difference.
-Additionally, the current name on the bill was entered last name first and first name last. In other words, it was reversed.  However...

None of the CSRs really seemed to care who's name was on the bill as long as the phone and account numbers were provided.  They just wanted the names to additionally confirm the proper account was coming up on their screens.  My name is not any of the accounts.  And I was able to close things out.  Go figure.

*And I was taking care of the Verizon stuff since my roommate who's name is on the bill got called into work this morning at 6:30AM(!?!?!?), and she's not allowed to make personal calls at work.  And since I was home today... In any case...

All done. Time to get ready for my trip to Memphis tomorrow morning.

Whew!  Memphis the city or Memphis the show?

Memphis the City in Tennessee!  My annual UPTA trip.  4 Days. 250 auditions each day.  Or something like that.  However, for myself..

Gus's Fried Chicken.  The Cupboard for a "meat and three" lunch.  Rendezvous Ribs.  And Interstate BBQ.

It's all about the Food!  ::)

This is the second time in the past four months someone on ONE LIFE TO LIVE has been kidnapped from the hospital. What is the problem with soap opera security and staff? Cutbacks?

I imagine HMOs are encouraging kidnappings from hospitals to cut down costs...
