Well, you've read the notes, the notes were stretched, and now it is time for you to post until the stretched cows come home.

I can never sleep very well when there are other people in my house.  I'm not sure why.  The cats are fascinated with the fact that there is very loud snoring coming from the guest room, lol

I downloaded the photos from tonight from the camera, but frankly it was set wrong and the friend who took the photos didn't notice, so most of them are blurry.  There are a couple I can play with and probably fix. There will be a photo in the Sioux City Business Journal and our building manager was there taking photos, so I'll get copies from them

DR Jose, yes there were lots of left overs, but the people ate a lot too.  I'd say maybe a little less than 1/2 of it was left.  I was very pleased with the turn out.  The people who did come were friends and then people who are in the Chamber of Commerce. Some I knew, but most of them I didn't know.  Everyone loved the office and I was able to get to know some people I probably wouldn't have had contact with otherwise.  I think from a business perspective (which is really what it was about) this was very successful.

I had a lot fo fun going through my "photos with famous people" that I have framed around the library/conference room. One of them is the photo of BK and I from my trip to L.A.

The most popular photo was me with The Naked Cowboy.

They made me put the photo of me with John Edwards in the corner, lol

I should probably try to go back to sleep.  We've got some plans this morning and then I have a busy afternoon at the office. I'm glad I went to all the trouble to get everything ready for this, but man, am I glad it's over.

Many thanks to George, Jose, Michael, Ginny, Druxy, Jennifer, Arnold Brockman, Laura, Elmore, Matt, Cillaliz, Kevin H, JMK, TCB, and Dan for the birthday wishes, and a special thank you to Jane for the beautiful card, and to MBarnum for the lovely card. Don't worry about it missing a few pages, MBarnum, I frequently feel that I am missing a few pages myself!

I had a wonderful birthday with friends, and ended up taking a dance and exercise class with the one and only Richard Simmons!
It was a blast, and he is such a sweetheart. At the end of the evening, he had me stand and invited the entire group to sing Happy Birthday to me, and he added a most lovely harmony. Great fun!

LOST SPOILER:

They don't know where they are.

No, a volcano erupts and the whole island sinks into the ocean, killing everybody.

 ::)

BTW: I don't know if this is true or not, but somebody once told me that there was once a soap opera (probably on radio) that got canceled on short notice.  So, to tie up all the story ends, on the final episode, the writers put the entire cast in a bus that went off a cliff.

Does anybody know anything about that?  True or false?

Continuing last night's discussion about memoirs and liability:

You don't have to worry about people's estates because, according to the law, you can't libel a dead person.

Do you recall that terrible book that came out years ago that claimed Errol Flynn was a Nazi?

Flynn's daughters sued the author.  The case was not only thrown out of court, but the daughters had to pay the author's legal fees.

It's pouring rain outside and, in about an hour, I have to go get an endoscopy.

I am thinking that the person in the Every Little Step documentary that irked MR BK is the same person that sent me over the edge, and still does every time I see him on television. T.O.

My copy of FINIAN'S RAINBOW was delivered last night and I've just uploaded it to my iPod and I'm going to give it a spin.

And our very own DR Elmore gets a very nice credit in the booklet!  Congrats, sir!
