I sampled about 30 minutes of the commentary. The director has a good way of expressing himself, and it's an easy and enjoyable listen.

I'm surprised and disappointed that PYGMALION wasn't included in the set.

I was as well and don't really understand why it wasn't unless they just wanted to keep it a separate catalog item for money purposes.

Is it possible that they don't own the rights to it?

Sort of like Return Of The Pink Panther is not included in the box sets because it was produced by another production company other than UA/MGM

PYGMALION is available through Criterion also.

Yes, Michael. That's why DR Druxy and I were surprised by its lack of inclusion. There are other Shaw-based films we didn't mention because they didn't have a prior Criterion release. I also mentioned in my response that "they" (meaning Criterion) wanted to possibly keep it a separate catalog item.

Well, it looks like the DC area will be closed down for a few days: up to 2 feet of snow predicted for Friday and Saturday. Some of the schools in the area have already announced they'll be closed Friday!

Just like the January, February of 1987 all over again! -I remember that because the whole first week of the spring semester at VCU - my freshman year - got cancelled due to the snow. -There were back to back snow storms.

DR Jennifer - As for "fudge sauce" - I'm guessing it's just going to be drizzled over the top of the dessert you are making, not incorporated or mixed in. If so, you could even use chocolate syrup, although I guess they're specifying "Fudge Sauce" since they want something thicker that won't run.

I mentioned something kind of similar (well, not really, but....) when I worked at a downtown club a couple of years ago. The men's room and the women's room faced each other and the mirrors were on top of a smoked glass which "looked through" to the other side. Several times I was in the men's room washing my hands and a woman would come in on her side, wash her hands, then look up and spy me through the smoked glass section. Screams of horror would then ensue.

I just read that Frances Reid from Days of Our Lives passed away. La Grand Dame is gone. I hope they give her a grand send off and bring back as many characters they can. She deserves it.

I used to watch it when I was younger and although I had stopped watching it I always enjoy the updates from my friends who still watch the show

I read through what I'd written and the chronology changes and I was very pleased with all of it, just smoothing out a few things. So, I printed out the redo, Xeroxed the pages, and delivered them to muse Margaret's ever-lovin' Richard. She may not get to them tonight, as they're having company. If not, I'm sure she'll read them tomorrow and we'll talk in the evening. While I was talking to Richard, another funny story came back to me, just a short anecdote about a commercial I did. I just wrote it - about a page long - and when I read through the book next week, if I find a place for it I'll stick it in. It's not really germane to anything, but it's fun.

Back from picking up a prescription and a few groceries for my Mom (her back went "out" as a result of her move - no surprise). After visiting with her for a bit and getting the IT guy to restore her DSL signal, I left to do my own grocery shopping and am now baking salmon filets for dinner.

As I was leaving the house, our mailman brought me 2 things:

Finian's Rainbow CD, which I took in the car and enjoyed very much. I'm looking forward to getting it onto my iPod and hearing it in my ears.

The letter from my insurance company telling me that they won't pay for my home health care from last week. When I told our doctor Monday that I'd heard rumors that this would be coming, he said, "We could have put you in the hospital for the week - that would have been really expensive for the insurance company!" He also said his office would do what they could to help me appeal.
