The best meal I've had recently was a CHristmas dinner at my friend John's house when we exchanged gifts. I know that's longer than a month, but it was BY FAR the best meal I've had in a while. filet mignon, asparagus tips, twice baked potato, and chocolate mousse for dessert. There was also a salad and bread, but I can't remember now any particulars about them.

I do know when I left that night, I felt like I had gained ten pounds.

I'm going to head downstairs now and start transcribing those short programs onto a DVD-R so I can get the DVR cleared for tonight's movies.

Miss Dixie Bell has indeed had a ride in the car with a trip to the drainage authority.  She ran me ragged.  Between panting on the floor, she is grinning from ear to ear.

Yesterday I spoke to the director of the student film and there seems to be some disagreement between he and the producer on where and when filming will begin, so that means I have today free...which makes me happy, actually!

I rather enjoyed Elmore's description on how I was cast in this film, so we will go with that!  :D

My plan today is either to cram as many Bollywood movie viewing as I can into the day, or if the weather turns warm, clean out the garage.

Just started a garden this morning. First time outside of the herbs in pots to be doing a major (well, major to me) part of the yard for lettuces and radishes. Thankfully, the soil was moist and surprisingly full of life -- worms, spiders, crawly things, etc. -- which leaves me hopeful that something will come of it.

And I didn't find my copy of "Take Me Along" under the dirt, either. It's somewhere, I know ...

BK, last summer, I had almost 400 CDs (and a couple of boxes of DVDs) stolen from my garage, so I FEEL YOUR PAIN!! :'( I went looking for a CD that I knew was in a box in my garage and that box and a couple of others were not there.  I'm slowly replacing some things, but I know I'll never be able to replace everything that I had...mainly because I don't think that I can remember everything that was taken, especially the DVDs. :-\

George, I hope that didn't include your Original Laotian Cast recording of OKLAHOMA; or the RuPaul production of FUNNY GIRL.

Yes, and I believe Inga Swenson was Mordred in this tour.

Vibes for Gabe, please.  He is really sick.  He's been on antibiotics for a few days but seems to be getting worse.  Hideous ear infection which is now spreading to his other sinuses.

A mutual friend of DR Druxy's and mine sent me this joke this morning:  A Jewish mother walks her son to the school bus corner on his first day of kindergarten. "Behave, my  Buibaleh". "Take good care of yourself and think about your mother, Tataleh!  Come right back home, Schein Kindaleh. Your Mommy loves you, my Ketsaleh!" At the end of the day the she runs to her son and hugs him. "So what did my Pupaleh learn on his first day of school?" The boy answers, "I learned my name is Jerry."

As for the Topic of the Day...

Hmmmm...

Well...

One of the "best meals" of the past month was at Fu Run out in Flushing Queens.  You can read the details HERE.  And then there was the meal at Cafe Fazir.  And, yes, I took pictures at and of both meals.

As for the Men's Skating - NBC is showing a Men's Skating Recap today/Saturday from 3:00pm-5:00pm EST (maybe 3:30pm-5:30pm) - Check your local listings. All the major "skates" are supposed to be shown.  -And, then they are supposed to be available on the web.  -Although, NBC has already come under a lot of criticism for their rather stingy Olympic video content on their site.

Thank you SO much for this information. I'll be sure to set the DVR to pick this up. Maybe I can at long last see Plushenko's long program.

You're welcome, DR MattH.  Although...

I just checked NBC's online schedule, and, of course, there's nothing listed in this afternoon's schedule about figure skating.  But, again, that may mean nothing.  Or nothing. :-\

*We set our DVR here yesterday morning as soon as we saw the promo run during "The Today Show".  From the promo it looked like it was going to be a dedicated two-hour block.  -Although, I did notice that they did run a recap of Lysacek's win yesterday afternoon during the 3:00pm block.  We shall see.
