TOD:

DVR:
HIGHWAY PATROL has begun playing on one of the cable stations, so I have a couple of episodes to watch

DVD: Herschell Gordon Lewis' GRUESOME TWOSOME (1968), and if luck is with me some more of Lewis' films will arrive in the mail today.

CD:
Some Dick Haymes and Johnny Desmond

Is Lewis' "Monster a Go-Go" available?

DR JohnG, yes indeed MONSTER A GO GO is on DVD http://www.amazon.com/Monster-Go-Go-Psyched-4-D-Witch/dp/B0000687DF/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1270864759&sr=1-1

Friday media report - We just watched the first 4 episodes of Season 1 of CASTLE, which DS Rob recommended.  Richard and I like them a lot and will watch the rest of the first season before I have to take the set back to the library.  BTW, when the main character and his daughter leave for her school trip to DC, she's carrying a Vera Bradley Mod Floral Pink Large Backpack.

DR MBarnum - it was actually Mary Linda who got us started on CASTLE.  She happened on it one night and got so hooked that Rob gave her the first season DVDs for her birthday in February.  They watched them and Rob got hooked, so he suggested that we watch it on TV the other night.  The Season 1 set just came in for me on my library's reserve system today, so we're filling in the backstory.

I had no idea Michael Riedel was still writing his poisoned pen pieces for the POST.

When I went down, I finished THE BOURNE SUPREMACY which I began last evening. For some reason, I can't put these BOURNE movies back on the shelf. I keep wanting to revisit all of them.

Then I watched last night's FLASH FORWARD. A fairly standard episode as these things go: trying to snuff out a mole at the FBI headquarters. I got really irritated with the shootout once the mole was identified. The mole was a deadeye shot and everyone else couldn't hit the broad side of a barn.

Why do they never have movies like this in the $3 bin at Big Lots!

Next I watched tonight's GHOST WHISPERER. The show had a couple of creepy and effective moments, but it didn't engage me much this week.

And I ended my evening with tonight's MEDIUM, an excellent wrap-up of its two-part episode.

He is. You can usually find his stuff linked to on www.broadwaystars.com, a daily wrapup of anything theater related.

Of course, he played a role in that film about the Broadway season that featured WICKED, CAROLINE OR CHANGE, AVENUE Q, and TABOO (I believe it was called SHOW BUSINESS).

In it, he at certain points was sitting with a table of legitimate NY theater critics. I wonder what their opinions of his writing are and if they minded sharing the screen with him as if he were on equal status with them.

Today the mail brought the next Criterion Blu-ray: the masterpiece 'M.' Guess when it comes out? May 11th! That's over a month of lead time that Criterion is giving me.

Fox was three days AFTER street date with COCOON.

It boggles the mind.

I guess I'll head downstairs now and go to bed. Since today was my day of rest from walking, I'm looking forward to my little jaunt tomorrow morning.

I've begun watching SOUTH PACIFIC, a little every night.  It has been years & years since I've seen it.

If it's the roadshow version, you'll be done just in time for the Mayan Apocalypse on 12/21/12.  :)

Fox is insane with its screeners.  Not as insane as Vivendi, but I digress. . .

I watched two Herschell Gordon Lewis pictures today...whew!

I thought he had made all his films in Florida, but it turns out that some were made in Chicago, which is where he lived during the 1960s. It just turned out that he had an easier time finding actors in Florida willing to work for him.

Okay....so our date is now Saturday, April 24 - which works as far as I know.

We have plenty of time to get tickets is my guess....but so far:

4 - The Palmer Party
2 - The Kimmel Party

And then whatever I want.......sounds right, I think I can reserve them Sunday....I shall see.

Bedtime now.

Oh......Debbie and I were in the middle of the pack with 25 out of 30 points....so no reward for us except knowing we helped raise $26,000 for the Putnam County Youth Foundation.....which is nice.

Now the 24th doesn't work - I forgot the LACCTAA event.  So, it's back to the 17th, or maybe the week after the 24th - I have to figure it out.

So glad it's the weekend.  Lots of things to do.  Mostly hanging an eclectic collection of things on the walls.

And finally unpacking the dishes, pots and pans.  I miss home cooked food.
