For you NW HHW-ers, DW Wife Betsy and the rest of the Time Out! moms also perform in about four weeks, on May 22, for this year's Rave in the Nave.

I did get a new review copy today via USPS:: Criterion's Blu-ray of WALKABOUT.

But, since it doesn't come out until May 18th, I decided I'd not dive into it until next week at the earliest.

I guess I'll finish up some stuff upstairs and then head down and get on with this evening's viewing. I didn't really want or expect this to have been a day off, but sometimes luck just doesn't go my way.

Our phones have been giving us problems for awhile now.  After dropping the connection multiple times yesterday we finally ordered new phones from Costco today.  The new phones have an option DR Laura needs, you can block individual numbers.

MR BK - did I seem to have a southern accent to you?

Not really - some sort of slight accent, though.

JRand, to me people from Indiana have kind of a country-ish kind of accent, or at least my friend Jim who was from Indiana, does.

I don't love that you cannot fast-forward through the episode on ABC - so, it's just running in real time while I do other things.

That's weird. I cannot watch full videos on ABC.com since i live outside the US. But usually there is a way to skip past parts.  The canadian channel that shows LOST (ctv.ca) has their shows in parts (part 1 of 6). I'm not that crazy about that way. But i guess it does work if you only want to watch a certain part.

Mastering guy found an error in the source material he's working from - a repeated track - thankfully the track it was supposed to be was located, so we swapped that out, and in the process found one additional track - so it's a little longer than we thought, which is good since it's fairly short.

AVATAR comes out on Blu-ray today, so I'm expecting the Fox review copy today, and if it comes, that'll be today's work project. It's a movie-only release; no bonus features at all, so watching it will take the time it takes but no more since there is nothing else to see.

So far, no UPS deliveries.

I'm curious how they are doing it with the 3D thing. Will there be any versions that are the 3D version or is only out in regular.

Only being released in 2-D for the present.

I don't know how 3D would be on tv vs in the theatre. But wasn't the whole big deal that it was so much better in 3D. Seems weird that they wouldn't have both for sale.

I am not sure what i will watch on tv tonight. For sure SURVIVOR. And since PRIVATE PRACTICE will be at 9pm i'll probably watch that too (i wish it was always at 9pm).  If i'm not too tired after i can either watch THE MENTALIST or start the DAMAGES finale.

Is anybody here still watching FLASH FORWARD?  I had saved up all the shows and never watched it till this march (when i watched them all at once). I sort of like it, especially because of Penny from LOST.

I've been watching it, but I haven't seen last week's episode.

That's Very Interesting...Since Our Phone(Answering Machine) conked out  we bought a new Panasonic set with two additional phones at Costco last week.
Enjoy! And it does include Laura's needed feature!

The theatrical 3D experience can not be duplicated on the current home video systems (and few have invested the mega-bucks to upgrade to a still "iffy" home 3D TV system.

The large screen digital 3D systems going into theatres now may well be the saving grave for theatrical-display movies.  I am surprised by how many of the local cinemas have invested in multiple 3D systems.

Little Shop is at my house!

Some sort of slight accent....I'll take that.  As long as I don't sound like the cowboys on TAR.

Jrand - But snappy movie dialogue can't hold a candle to snappy Broadway dialogue

Mickey Rooney in Sugar Babies -

-Isn't that Hortense?

- I don't know - She looks pretty relaxed to me

(variation on a theme)

You're right, that's pretty darn snappy.

And of course from some play that Walter Kerr reviewed and wrote about in his book:

Dialog was fast and furious, and when a cop interrogated the chorus girl where she had been on the night of the murder, she replied snappy as all get out:

"I was knittin' a mitten for my kitten!"

Which one is Penny?  We stopped watching LOST early on.

We are still watching F FORWARD.  We were growing weary of it by the end of last season & let 3 episodes accumulate at the beginning of this season before watching it again, & then only turned it on because we didn't have anything else to watch.  Unlike Matt H we have been enjoying the show again.

The new phones have an option DR Laura needs, you can block individual numbers.

That's a nice feature.

I figured you would appreciate the option ;)

The option we like is the ability to turn the sound off the ringer.  We will have a base phone with 3 remote phones.  One of those will be in the guest room.  In the past we have had to unplug the guest room phone when we had company.

I wonder if this is the same phone, with one less phone than our set.  It says you can use up to 6 phones with the one base.  It doesn't have an answering machine since we have voicemail.
