Well, you've read the notes, the notes were nauseating, and now it is time for you to post until the nauseous cows come home.

Sorry to hear about Lena Horne. She was one of the first celebrities I got to interview bak when I was in college and she was touring with her one-woman show. I was in awe of her then and have remained that way through the years.

TOD: I guess my favorite suspense film would have to be "M," largely because of Peter Lorre's mesmerizing performance, which helps keep you nervous as the film progresses. Of all of Hitchcock's films, "Suspicion" keeps me going until the hokey ending -- and perhaps it is because the ending feels so wrong that, in its twisted way, it works so well.

John, thanks for posting the Pacific Overtures clip!

I am one of the few that think this is a BRILLIANT show. It has a solid place in my all time favorite Top 10 and most people look at me like I'm crazy. Most people don't even know what show I'm talking about.

I went to the Tonys last year and while I certainly had a good time, you're absolutely right, the earlier shows were so special. Now the show is staged for the lowest common denominator (sorry all you non-theatre folk) and you would NEVER get that number on any television awards show. 7 minutes and 15 seconds of brilliance!!!

Sorry to hear about Lena Horne, though i was never a fan.

When I saw THE WIZ, all I could think was.....even in BEACH BLANKET BINGO, Annette Funicello's mouth matched the playback....

DR VIXMOM - or anyone.....this is a small Photo Resizer that is a free shareware.  I use it a lot.....you can resize individual photos or a BATCH of them.  Easy to use and doesn't take much space.

Feel better vibes for MR BK.

TOD:

NORTH BY NORTHWEST - which I first saw as a second feature at the drive in with a movie I have forgotten.  When it started, everyone in the car wanted to leave....some old CARY GRANT movie!  But we stayed just to see what would happen....and never left until the end!

And of course.....THE MANCHURIAN CANDIDATE and THE MAN WHO KNEW TOO MUCH and THE PARALLAX VIEW.

Off to do some Monday things.....and I hope to get THE CALL today to pick up the VAIO.

I would switch the two top teams on the TAR finale.....but it was a fun fnale.

HMMMMMM....when I am sitting at the G4 - my face is reflected back to me in the shiny silver Apple logo on the base.

hi, Jack!

I know what you mean about double features, Jrand.

I remember a double bill where the main feature was Elvis in CLAMBAKE and the second feature was WITH SIX YOU GET EGGROLL, and I've basically forgotten CLAMBAKE (except for one scene where Elvis was water-skiing).

Good morning, all! I have a couple of errands to run and then I am back here to continue the identification of the McGlinn CDs.  Last night I watched the first episode of this season of THE TUDORS. Yep, DR Matt H, Thomas Culpepper, or possibly his brother, was accused of raping a park keeper's wife. One can always count on political circles to be filled with sleazeballs, I guess!

DR Ginny, I guess the answer to your inquiry several days ago is, yes, I could use a ride to the Canton Airport on Sunday. Right now I have little to relate, and I feel extremely boring today.

Grrrrr...since I was at my sister's yesterday for a combination Monther's Day/niece and nephew birthday celebration, I did not watch THE AMAZIN' RACE finale last night (thought I did set Tivo to record it.)  But while perusing Twitter before bed, I came across a tweet by a nitwit who blatantly spilled out the names of the winners!

Grrrrrr...  I am doubly annoyed about this!

It's always sad when a legend passes, but like we've said before here--there's no tragedy in the death of an old man and the same holds true for women.

I've enjoyed Lena Horne and her song stylings.  I always regretted passing a chance to see her one-woman show on B'way back in the 80's, but I did see her perform as part of an evening of jazz at the Academy of Music in Philly.  She was fantastic!
