There was a very funny book my mom gave me years ago full of actual printed malapropisms.  My favorite was a circa 1970 woman with Republican hair (and I know you know what I mean) standing next to her outdoor light, with her hand on its stand.  The caption said she was one of only two women to hold a similar post.

I forgot to mention the DirecTV problem:  the receiver is not sending out the HDMI handshake if you leave it off for any length of time.  I spent all weekend phoning their "customer service" before finally getting a service call scheduled today.  And all of this with the protection package I pay extra for.

I have had some shrimp and scallops in ginger sauce, for dinner, and I and my ROSE OF ALGERiA vocal score will settle down before the TV with proofreading while I watch something. God knows what.

JMK--I enjoyed your review of Barbra's new DVD!  I think she sounds great on the whole, but those raspy bits are worrisome!

You asked where I was in the clip-I'm holding on to the railing and wearing a brownish jacket.

I had a big gay chocolate ice cream cone with chocolate sprinkles from Doug after lunch.

He's on his way to China to perform so he will be gone for two weeks!

Hooray for Doug

I would like a big gay chocolate ice cream cone with chocolate sprinkles.

So would I, minus the sprinkles.

Then I'll take double sprinkles!!

I had a busy and very good day.  I received an email with an advanced copy of an article Carol - the woman who grew up in my house - wrote for her column in the Greenville TX newspaper.  It's going to be in the paper on Sunday and I'll post a link then.  It was very heart warming.

TOD:

For women's clothing, my favorite era is the 1950s, particularly the latter half of that decade.

Loved the tight waistline with the full skirts and lots of crinoline underneath. That would be my most fave.

Mike, wasn't Number 4 the dress you wore last week to THE BRAIN?

The trip this past weekend was really great.  The interesting thing is my parents and I all feel like we were gone much longer than we were.  sort of feels like a time warp of some sort.

I have to admit Mike that those 50's dresses look very femine and flattering- I remerber as a very little girls having a dress with a poofy  crinoline and watching myself in my Mom's full length mirror as a twirled around to make my skirt flair out

I also remember how scratchy the crinoline was on my bare legs!
