I've got several friends, including Jonathan Tunick who supervised the Strauss music, involved in PARADISE FOUND, the new Harold Prince-Susan Strohman musical that opened in London this week to pretty lousy reviews, most 2 out of 5 star reviews. Oy!

DR Jennifer - In regards to the reviews of "SATC2"... Since it sounds like you were going to see the movie regardless - and since it seems that you would like it anyway - why even bother reading the reviews?

*And, conversely, would you want to read and trust a review by someone who was predisposed to LOVE the movie.

Strangely enough, I think this casting is sort of brilliant:

EXCLUSIVE: Bernadette Peters and Elaine Stritch May Make Night Music On Broadway

However, if they were able to pull this off, I can't imagine the amount of entrance and exit applause and hoots and hollers after every number for either actress. :-\

JMK, do you plan on sending out change of address notices?

We sent them out to magazines, etc.  If you personally want it, just let me know.

LOL, I'm letting you know. :)

DR TCB re: the Sex & The City 2 movie gettting a bomb rating.

I can only speak for myself. And it makes me feel bad/sad/mad when a movie i'm looking forward to seeing gets a bomb rating.  But it makes me even more upset when they let someone review it who knows they will hate it before even going in. It just makes me wonder why bother making that person sit through it. And why make me read it.

Jennifer - I was looking forward to seeing it and am glad I did.  Is it the best movie or shooting for an Oscar? No, but I don't think anyone ever pretended it would be.  If you liked the characters and you want to just have some silly fun - then you'll like it evern if the critics don't

But there is the catch DR Jennifer, I would not have read it, or at least stopped reading it once I knew the reviewer was destined not to like it.  I know the feeling of looking forward to the release of a movie only to read bad reviews.

Glad to hear i'm not the only one who feels this way.

The thing is if the movie was terrible then i wouldn't mind so much. Because i'd feel like this guy did me a favor by letting me know how bad it is. But I would have rather that they had gotten somebody in the demographic and specified that grumpy old men might not like it! ;)
