Jane, I am writing about Ashland at this very moment.  Opus Arte has started releasing "real" Globe Theater productions and I have to review their 2009 Romeo & Juliet.  I am starting my review with a comment or two about my experiences at Ashland's "Globe."  Perhaps JR would like me to work in some comments about Ms. Appel.  ;)

LOL-She is now history.  I'm not sure her replacement is better.  I'm too much of a traditionalist.

Back from various and sundried errands and whatnot - with more to come, and lunch, too.  I delivered all the Promises materials to the designer, added a few things to the liner notes, cut a few things, and those are now done and sent.

OPA!!!  Had a really wonderful lunch at the Greek Festival.  I bid in the silent auction and instead of numbers, they give you a god or goddess name to bid.  So I walked up and said "Make me a Goddess" and I was named Selene, Goddess of the Moon.   Cool.

Haven't seen too many cabaret acts, but I love Marilyn Maye.  She summers at the lakes where I used to live.  I've seen her perform many times.

Today I called my former yard guy - the one who cut down my rhubarb and I never called him back.  He said he'd be glad to mow for me again and quoted me a price $5 less than last year.  Ok, I can do that. Well, I would have done the higher price too, actually, I just can't do the yard anymore, I get too overheated.  Maybe if I lose weight again I would have the stamina, but I'm just not going to bother.

If you're thinking about donating to help the wildlife clean-up you should read this

Quote
Well, I am sure by now you have all seen the pictures of the oiled birds that were captured in Grande Isle, Louisiana. We are busy today with those birds and I have been delinquent in writing current blog postings. I will begin again tonight and keep you all updated.

Please know that we are all doing well here, unhappy like you that this is happening, but we have a great master plan to offset as much damage to the birds as we can. For those of you who are asking about ways that you can either support us or donate to us, I thank you for your generosity. I also want you all to understand that this entire oiled bird rehabilitation effort is being paid for by BP. This is appropriate as they are the Responsible Party for this spill.

If you would like to send donations then please keep in mind that your local wildlife rehabilitation organization really needs your help also. They care for the same wild animals that are being impacted by the spill. A pelican is a pelican whether is it tangled in fishing tackle or oiled! Please send support to your local wildlife rehabilitation organizations. You can also support IBRRC and Tri-State’s ongoing bird rehabilitation efforts if you like and that information is available on our web sites.

Talk to you very soon,

– Jay Holcomb, IBRRC Executive Director from Fort Jackson, Louisiana
