Ok, on inside edition they have a guy who has been attacked by a grizzly bear twice.   Wouldn't you keep your distance after the first one?

The cats are watching the neighbor pack up his car to leave.  It's funny, they never paid much attention to him before today

For those who haven't seen this, it's a list of

Tony Award Predictions

from Time Out New York's David Cote and Adam Feldman.

It's pretty much on the money, IMHO.

Thank you, Ben.  Now I won't mind missing the Tonys'.

Cilla said last evening:
Quote
The Schwann's truck that goes past my house has needed a break job for the past few months.  They really squeal every time he goes by

Actually the Schwann driver's wife rigged the brakes so she would know when he was almost home.

The last two days at work have been chilly.  The nutcase broad who I work with flipped out yesterday morning and began screaming at me.  Every few minutes she would announce that she was going home.  I wouldn't have stopped her.

T.O.D.

The word that makes me cringe is "copacetic."  I had a boss when I was delivering furniture who managed to use that word in almost every sentence that he uttered.

Ironically it was also the only multi-syllabled word he ever used.

TOD:

Some favorites are "jejune", "obsequious" and "hissy fit".

I suppose "hissy fit" is an expression rather than a word, but I've never found a way to use "hissy" alone.   Unless one were speaking of snakes or overly sibilant speech patterns, I can't imagine using it ever without "fit" tagging along behind it.  I do see it, on occasion, in film music discussion forums when someone, upon hearing an issue of a score that was previously only on LP, complain that the recording sounds "hissy".

I love "hissy fit." Use it often, in fact. I once had a boss who had never heard the phrase and used to get the giggles whenever I used it.

I have a co-worker who I assume reads the monthly Reader's Digest column on increasing your vocabulary.  Unfotuately, he sledom pays any attention to the punctuation assistance that they offer.

iPhone is being very erratic - texts arriving late, no notification, phone not ringing, one phone call came in, left voice mail, and when I walked outside to listen to the voice mail all remnants of that phone call had disappeared from the phone.  I spent some time with ATT, then with Apple - we trouble shot, restored, futzed.  Then it was suggested I go to ATT and get a new SIM card for this brand new phone.  I went over there - they suggested I do nothing but wait until ATT actually finishes trying to fix my three local 3G towers, which are not performing adequately for the last few weeks.  That would explain a lot of things, I think.  So, I'll wait.  In the meantime she had me change the network setting to E, the 2G network, which is working better in my nabe.  I can switch it back to 3G when I'm in other parts of the city.
