I'm wearing my Orson Welles hat this week.

Sitting in my home office, I'm writing, producing, directing, photographing, editing and starring in a trailer for my new book.

And, I'm doing it all on my Mac laptop.

The secret word is "Rosebud!".

Me, too, DR Ginny.  I had it on Tivo from a showing on TCM a few months back, but it's long gone (and TCM doesn't have it scheduled for now, either...)

DR Ginny:  "The Group" is one of those titles I want but do not have in my library.

Speaking of DVDs, I'm going to ask one more time before I buy:  Does anyone have a copy of THE GROUP that they'd be willing to lend to me for my August 19 book group meeting?  Can't find it on Netflix or at any libraries.

Maybe Kevin McCarthy has a copy you can borrow?

I just read and the 3rd movie (the GIRL WHO KICKED THE HORNET'S NEST) will be coming out here in french on dvd august 17th!

Interestingly the titles here have just been: MILLENIUM and MILLENIUM 2 (for the dvds).

The 3rd one is called on amazon.ca: MILLENIUM 3 Reine Dans Le Pal.

The dentist says I am healing nicely. Then I went to Toyland and dropped off some music and things, followed by a trip to City Center to see Joshie and hand him some proofed copies of Herbert material.

I misread the TOD and thought it was books in translation:
UK: I CAUDIUS, HERCULES MY SHIPMATE and KING JESUS by Robert Graves
PRIDE & PREJUDICE and PERSUASION by Jane Austen
          OLIVER TWIST by Charles Dickens
          TOM JONES by Henry Fielding
          OF HUMAN BONDAGE by Maugham
A ROOM WITH A VIEW by Forster
WIND IN THE WILLOWS by Kenneth Grahame

GREEK:  THE ILIAD translated as THE ANGER OF ACHILLES by Robert Graves
           THE ODYSSEY translated by Fagles

I've read the unabridged LES MISERABLES and thought it went on longer than the musical, but I also liked Balzac's COUSIN BETTE and Proust's SWANN'S WAY; I don't have the patience to read the entire work.

I know that this is a break in tradition, but I am doing laundry today.  I was too sick over the weekend to attempt the stairs.

I don't have a blu-ray. But I"m pretty sure that all Canadian and US dvds work on any canadian or us unit.

From John G:
Quote
I read a book by J.B. Priestley called "The Magicians." Wasn't one of his better works. But I would imagine there are other novels of the same name out there.

Yup, different one.  The one I saw is by Grossman, don't remember the first name & I must get ready for PT.

I did some laundry yesterday, and everything that I'm wearing was washed yesterday...not my shoes, though.

Richard and I both just received text messages from Rob that said, "Got baby!"  As part of his paramedic training, he has to be present for 2 births.  He's been scheduling hospital times and being sent home because there were no deliveries imminent during those shifts.  He had an 8-hour shift today at a different hospital and that must have done the trick!

Sounds like it, DR Elmore.  I texted back and asked, "Boy or girl?"  He said "Girl," so I assume there was only one.  We'll get details when he gets home.

Either that, or he and Mary Linda have a surprise for the two of you.
