No, the book doesn't come with a CD unless it's purchased at Kritzerland or unless I have them with me at signings.  And speaking of signings, it looks like I'll be coming to New York on September 24 to do one at the Drama Book Shop - so do we think we can gather a decent crowd for that event?  I don't really want to spend the dough traveling unless we can have a good crowd.  That's a Friday at 5:30 and, of course, we can have a get-together after.

I went to Hugo's and tried something new - a barbecue turkey sandwich - excellent.  Had a small Caesar and fruit with it.  I'd already done my mile and a half jog and pretty much worked off my little breakfast.

Unfortunately I will be in San Francisco on that day.

Watching "Nine." It's an unholy mess. Several of the best songs from the show were cut. Daniel Day Lewis is so unlike Marcello M. and so unlikable that he's hard to watch. Marion Cotillard practically blows away everyone else in the movie. She's everything the rest of the movie should be. And what's with Kate Hudson? She's terrible even while everything else around her seems to work.

Rob Marshall's staging of "Be Italian" is a lazy rehash of the "Life Upon the Wicked Stage" number he did for Anna Kendrick and the "Cabaret" girls that was included in "Ladies of Broadway."

And yet, I will probably end up buying a copy because pieces of it are really good, even if the movie as a whole isn't. But the price will have to drop to about $5.

Just finished another episode of ROUTE 66. As much as I like Glenn Corbett, he was a poor substitute for George Maharis (during Maharis' absence from the series)

Great to have a couple of hours at home tonight. First in ages. And great to be able to reconnect with all of you at HHW.

Well, a lot of people must have gotten the hardcover of my book at that incredible price, because the sales rank for the hardcover jumped from 3,000,000+ to 76,000.  Pretty cool.  However, they must have figured it out and that sale is over and the hardcover isn't even getting the normal discount now.  So, instead of $28, a number of people got the book for 12.50

Well, we're in the thick of it, Bar Mitzvah-wise.  :)  Friday night services were mercifully brief.  Tomorrow the four hour gauntlet must be run.  I did manage to sneak in a trip to CD Traders, which BK recommended, and got some nice items, including a wonderful 2 CD set of Tito Puente's Living Stereo sides.

Back from the concert.  Betty Buckley was in great voice, although we found out later she wasn't feeling well.  She sang some great songs, nothing from any roles she has played.  She sang "It's a Fine Fine Line" from Avenue Q which was surprisingly very good as well as several standards and other things.  I love Kenny Werner's arrangements, although he was not there this evening.  Afterward, she signed the CD jacket of her "New Ways to Dream" CD, and I asked her if she had anything to say to my up and coming Sunset Blvd cast and she laughed and said to have a good time and that she loved doing the show.

All in all, it was a great evening.

Booked the NY flight on JetBlue - a good rate and I got the extra leg room seat in row 2, so I'm happy with that.  However, perhaps someone can explain to me why the room rates, even on the discount sites, are almost quadruple what they were during my last trip.  I don't think I'm flying on a prime week or anything and last I heard school was back in session and so I'm not at all certain why these rates are what they are.  So, I'm not booking anything until they go down.  I can be patient.
