Very sad news from my friend Debby - she battled cancer several years ago, but has now been diagnosed with stage four cancer, which they're telling her in inoperable. According to her, it's not in her bones or brain, but in her lymph nodes and near her lungs. I've known Debby since 1988 and she's a wonderful gal and terrific artist. She did the original Bay Cities logo, and covers for several Bay Cities albums. One of her paintings hangs on my living room wall. She really thought she had this beat, but cancer, that most of insidious and sickening diseases, sometimes has the final say - not always, and that, of course is the prayer we all pray, but for Debby it is not looking good, although she's a very positive person and that's part of the battle. The fact that we live in a world where there are the most extraordinary things - computers, cell phones, amazing devices, satellites, and astonishing technology, yet in all these centuries no one has come up with a cure for a disease that inhabits a human body. With all the billions of dollars of research every year, how can this continue to go on? So, excellent vibes and xylophones for my friend Debby.
