Der BRUCER, thanks for the sharing the shots from Germany. I was also at Linderhof and several of Ludwig's other castles in the last 1970s -- 1978, I think.

Maybe I'll just walk around our block a few times...

Maybe you can get your cardiologist to write you a prescrption for a standard sized poodle - you could take her for walks in matching Vera Bradley.

TOD:

Even though I was quite young, I remember being glued to the television set during the aftermath of John Kennedy's assassination.

Later, I followed the Sharon Tate murder story completely and totally.  My cousins Lynn and Dale had gone to school with Sharon Tate in Italy; they were all "Air Force Brats."

The Martha Moxley case intrigued me before I had read Dominick Dunne's A SEASON IN PURGATORY (which I only read for the first time two weeks ago).

Horrifically followed the Jeffrey Dahmer case as well.

Cases that intrigue me now:
The Black Dahlia case.  There are more books concerning Betty Short on my shelf than just about any other.
Lizzie Border.  I don't think this case will ever lose its fascination.
Ann Woodward's shooting of her husband, which became the basis for Dunne's THE TWO MRS. GRENVILLES.
Ted Bundy's murder spree.
The Kennedy Assassination.
Ann Perry's youthful murder of her best friend's mother.

Just got back from a solo walk around the neighborhood.  I cut my time to 20 minutes, because there were some inclines.  My route ended with me walking past the home of one of my rehab nurses, so I figured if I was gonna pass out her driveway would be a good place to do it.  No prob and now I'm going to try to get a glimpse of DN/goddaughter Lauren on the Miami (Ohio) sideline at Florida Stadium - Go, 'Hawks!

TOD

My current fascination is with our record-setting Pediatrician pedophile.
The tort lawyers are establishing a cottage industry in trying to wring every last cent from the Medical Associations, the local hospital, and anyone else in sight.

His attorney’s now have an interesting play afoot to free the beast – suppress all the video-taped evidence. The officer’s conducting a pre-warrant drive-by of the property noted the main office and a white out building (with black decoration). They received a warrant for medical files from the “office and the white out-building”. When executing the warrant they searched the main office, the adjacent white building behind the office (not visible from the street) and the white building (with black trim, now called the “checkerboard building”.  The damning video files were found in the latter space. The defense is maintaining that the search of the “checkerboard building” was invalid and that the video files were not medical records. (Actually, once the officers opened the files and saw the content, they had the warrant amended to include evidence of child abuse before continuing the search and seizing the many video clips and recording equipment.) If the search of the checkerboard building or the viewing of the first video file (and the subsequent poisonous fruit) are thrown out, the prosecution is left with a flimsy case involving the uncorroborated testimony of a pre-schooler instead of video-tape evidence of the  more than 500 counts of rape and child exploitation involving 127 children charged.

I have also been to those Bavarian castles, DB.  My sister ran the Service Club in Heilbronn (I don't think that base even exists any more), and I spent the summer when I was I think 15 staying with her.  I had a Eurrail pass and went all over the continent by myself.  It was scary, but a real maturing event in my life.

TOD - I remember as a kid living in Calaveras County, my step-father was a cop with the Sheriff's Dept and the biggest thing that went down was the thing with Leonard Lake.  I can't remember what exactly was going on, but I remember him not being home much and I also remember that when they finally got into his bunker in Willsiville, they found nothing.  Very unsatisfying and and huge let down.

Here's a Wiki Link about the guy

Well...

When I stopped back in yesterday afternoon after running my errands, the Con Ed trucks were back out in front my building, so...

 :-\

Thankfully, they were there to do a final check on the new electrical lines for this "block" of units.

:)

But, we were back to running on "limited power" for an hour or so... And then I had to head out to dinner.
