Now I gotta scram -- gearing up for Ghost Talk next month, so lots to do -- prop, costume, set, and tech lists to prepare, etc., etc. -- a director's work is never done ...

BK: Do you have any rituals when you hit NYC? Any stops you have to make first or something you have to do when you get there?

I used to but now all the record and DVD and book stores I'd immediately go to are gone - so only Joe Allen's.

I actually managed to be asleep by midnight, so I got a very nice night's sleep and would have slept even longer if not for a lot of large truck noise activity, which now, of course, seems to have magically stopped.

Are there any stores where vintage theater materials are sold?  A place where a window card or poster for something like... oh, as an example... "Li'l Abner" might be procured?

I've read that if we watch the eastern sky just after sunset today we will have a skywatching treat. The nearly full moon will be rising just above the bright planet Jupiter and a somewhat dimmer Uranus.

You'll need binoculars if you hope to spot Uranus, though...it appears as a tiny bluish speck, too dim for the naked eye. So the coming celestial lineup is an excellent time to find that planet with binoculars or a small telescope, using Jupiter as a helpful guidepost.

You can now tell all your friends that "tonight, Uranus can't be seen without a telescope".

I am back from the McGlinnventory, which meant running through some notes, then - since my pharmacy is a few blocks from the NYPK - I stopped in for a second to look up a couple of names on the Historic Newspapers On Line. Now I have to print 22 Fed Ex shipping labels.

I have never tried fries with ranch dressing. In fact I've never even seen them served together. Is this common?

I've never been to a place where you're automatically given ranch with your fries, but it's very common for people to ask for it.  You should try it! :)

Mr Peter Filichia answered my email RE: Never Too Late

"That's what I get for writing about a show I've never seen!

Thanks!

Where's the show being done? Maybe I can come see it.

best, PF"

I let him know that it was Greencastle Indiana....and that we closed on Saturday night and mentioned, of course, my close personal friends Larry Moore and Bruce Kimmel....also mentioned that MR BK is coming to NYC this week for a book signing.

"Oh! Sorry I missed it!

I adore both Larry and Bruce. Glad they got you to me.

You have an excellent point about kids moving back in with their parents. I can't see a newly married couple wanting to do it, but I guess it's possible.

Anyway, I hope I do get to see it one of these days.

best, PF"

My brush with greatness thanks to HHW.

That's pretty cool, JRand!
