DR John G, I think the ending was in color. It was my nderstandign that one of the reasons the original DVD of "Little Shop" was pulled from release was because Frank Oz was pissed they had used a work print and not the film footage. I could be wrong, but that's my memory. Even though I didn't have a DVD player at the time, I bought the DVD ASAP.

Actually it was David Geffen who had it pulled I believe. It was because it was the work print and I believe he had the rights to the excise footage. I think the color footage is considered lost. If you also watch carefuly the sound effects are also absent

How strange!  Deep Discount has a sale on the Columbia Pictures Classic Collection.  Among the titles is THE LOVE MACHINE.  What I find interesting, besides the fact that anyone considers THE LOVE MACHINE a classic anything, is the fact that the cast is listed as:

Jackie Cooper, Dyan Cannon, Robert Ryan

Whoops, I think they forgot to mention John Phillip Law who happened to be the star of the film.

One of my favorite things to do is speaking in public...NOT! Hope I don't puke! I really hate it and have a lifelong fear of it.

If it's not too late...

I bought the "special edition" DVD on eBay several years after the recall...and I certainly paid for it. ::)

Hello, everyone.

I watched Act One of SOUTH PACIFIC last night. What a fine production! Wonderful voices! Thanks again, George.

My pleasure, Jeanne!

Well, we're finally within one performer of being cast - right now we've got a terrific foursome - Dan Callaway (lots of LA musicals, including Irma La Douce recently at MTG), Doug Carpenter (recently in See What I Wanna See and Camelot at the Pasadena Playhouse), Jane Noseworthy (recently Carrie in the Reprise Carousel opposite Andy Taylor), and Alet.  One more gal and we'll be done.

Has BK or anyone else ever posted this (and there are more for the other books):

I don't remember us ever having discussed these, but then again, I don't remember what we're discussing today.  :)

I brought it home - I'll find it and tell you - Skip's show was Plaisir d'Amour, and yours had music and lyrics by you, I think.

I never posted it because I hate it.  I was a test case for them - they usually charge thousands of dollars for those, but they used me as a guinea pig - I didn't have the heart to tell them how bad it was - I could have written them something great and would have narrated it for free.

I got the new BD set of the Back to the Future films.  Two initial thoughts:  there are going to be complaints again.  It is Universal, after all.  And WTF has Claudia Wells done to her face?  The 2010 interviews look like a completely different person, and she was a STUNNINGLY beautiful young woman in the first film.  Why mess with success?

I believe Claudia Wells is out of the "business" and owns a clothing store on Ventura Blvd in Studio City nearby where BK lives

There have already been complaints about the Back to the Future set, all based on stupid screencaps.  The FILMMAKERS profess themselves extremely pleased with the transfers and say they look better than what the film looked like back in the day - and I'm sure they're right because what no one remembers (because there was only VHS back in the day) is that this film never looked very good - the mid 1980s' film stock was just not great and I remember it looking very grainy and probably not at all like what the camera negative looked like.

Shortly I shall be on my way to a book signing.  Send your most excellent vibes and xylophones, please, because two more people just cancelled - it really could be me and about three others and I will not be happy about it if that's what happens.

I'm talking more about artifacts like aliasing and shimmer.  Rampant.
