I miss Barrymore's. It was a great place for decent food and good company. It was unknown to many tourists. The real estate boom of the mid-21st Century made the leaseholders greedy. Now the lot sits empty with only our memories.

So do I, DR Ben!  Here's one of my favorite HHW photos:

It looks more like THE BROTHERS KARAMAZOV.

I always thought the three sisters Olga, Natasha, Irina and Masha sounded like Santa claus' reindeer!

Earlier, I was trying to rapidly catch up on yesterday's posts, when I came across this one by Amy.
Yesterday Amy posted:
Quote
I have a houseguest staying with me, so I may take him there before he leaves. He's a producer I worked with at Turner many moons ago.

Since I tend to speed throught them, I sometimes drop a word or two which made for a different meaning without the word "there" included.

I guess DR EDISAURUS used exactly the right word when she said being a regular at HHW enhances one's life.

Certainly I feel a great connection with all of those who post here - and I have had the pleasure of meeting some of them - including DR GINNY and her DH RICHARD and DS ROB, DR JOSE, DR CP, and or course MR BK hisseff.

I have always been fascinated by show business and work around the fringes here doing my part in local theatre - community and professional - but it's very nice to hear stories and know people who "know" folks and are making a living in show business. Fascinating.

I have also met DR RODZINSKI and DR TPUNK.

I look forward to many future meetings.  HHW is a very positive place to visit, its denizens  can always be counted on to cheer me up, give me an answer to a question, or point to a website or video that is most entertaining.

I love all the photographs.....somedays it is like a train ride across the country as we view scenes from everyone's life.  And of course I am very partial to the animal pictures.

I shall now watch GLEE and hope that one particular character doesn't have a LOT of screen time tonight.

I am most pleased by the result of THE AMAZING RACE last Sunday.....and as DR JENNIFER posted, I think it was a production error in the previous show that caused the Non Elimination Leg....non scheduled....and everyone started even this week at the circus.

Jennifer losing your memory sounds scary.  I doubt using the expired medication is a problem.  You might want to make an appointment with your doctor to get more in case it happens again.  I have a friend who goes to emergency to get a shot of pain killer when hers are bad enough.  Most people I know take their meds and go to bed until it is over, which can be a day or two.  When you feel better I suggest you read up on severe migraines, before you see the doctor.

FEEL BETTER VIBES!!!

Thanks it is slowly starting to feel better.

Yep losing my memory was scary. At the time I went to the clinic. I knew it was a migraine. But had not had one for 7 years. So i did not have my meds handy. And my head hurt too much to look for them. At the clinic i was throwing up and the doc would not give me the migraine meds. He sent me to the hospital, where they rushed me to another hospital.

It was weird but my memory just came back. I also was having trouble reading. They sent some kid intern in to have me read to them. The funny part was that my mind was working well enough to try to trick the intern (i did not want to stay in the hospital).I could read most of the words, but not the big ones. So i would just skip over the big words hoping the intern would not notice. :)

I wonder if you go to the pharmacy with an expired med (that you did not take) if they would exchange it for new pills (either for free or for the cost). Or i wonder if i can get a prescription for 3 pills.

Zellers (a sort of Walmart like store here) had their Halloween candy at 75% off. I wasn't looking for any. But I couldn't resist 90 of my favorite (reese's peanut butter cups and reese's pieces) for $3.49. Although I had to hide them so I won't eat them.

We hold these truths to be.  That all men are.  That they are by their with, that among these are life and the of.

How'd I do, Doc?

As for the Topic of the Day...

Each time bk asks this question, I always have to resort to some creative searching and Googling in order to find my first post. I really should just bookmark it. -Which I now have.

It doesn't exactly explain the why of I first came here to HHW, but it does include my first post:

09/03/2002 - "OUT OF THE LOOP"

Wow!  That page brings back memories.

No exchanges in this country.  You can fill a prescription for only three pills.  You can also ask for your pills to have a long expiration date.  If you call the pharmacy they should be able to tell you if the pills are really good for a longer amount of time or if you need to pay attention to the expiration date.

HHW can certainly be a lot of fun. I'm not a blogger anywhere else. HHW is indeed an interesting community of folks with similar interests--and some great wit.

I think my most memorable times are my first HHW gathering in Portland.  I knew then that I would get together with Hainesies and Kimlets whenever I could.  The first New York walking and eating tour was a blast....and the central park tour.  You guys were so great to my nephew Jon and in many ways gave him his own "it get's better" moment.  He's a different person now..much happier and I think some of that came from the people he met and what he saw in New York.

That's very nice to read about Jon.

I still remember your hesitancy on the way to JMK's house & your excitement on the way back to the hotel. ;)

Well, THOUGHT it was going to be OK, but I really wasn't sure until we got there.  I had never met any of you before and I was a very long way from home
