They are having a 50% off sale at a nice mens clothing store next to a coffee shop.   I'm thinking I'll get my dad a sweater this year.   I called to get his size and he answered (that's unusual) and I found out he's waiting for the nurse to call about a prescription.  He's not feeling any better.

DR Jane, re: my library getting ebooks.

Hey remember they just went online this Fall. I seriously doubt they will be getting ebooks. I really have not heard about this happening around here for any libraries.

DR elmore - ~~~~~CRUD-BE-GONE VIBES TO YOU~~~~~

I actually think something was/has been going around the past couple of days in NYC. I know a bunch of people - myself included - that have been dealing with IPND - Insidious Post-Nasal Drip. Although, it probably was DR MBarnum's fault anyway. ;)

Well, it could be "The Ailment of the Day". -We'll just have to wait for DR Ron Pulliam to chime in to make it official. ;)

Monday morning greetings!  It's rather gray and gloomy here in SW Ohio today, but my day was brightened considerably by a nice phone conversation with DR Elmore.  He does, indeed, sound like he has a cold, so we've put off plans for getting together until after Thanksgiving Day.

I have my last session at the cardiac rehab gym today.
Congrats on the last rehab session. That's something to be thankful for.

Have you tried a neti pot? It's helped me. Well, that and a prescription nasal spray.

Just got off a 90-minute phone call with my mother.

I have delayed working on a cookbook of her recipes for too long now. This morning, we tackled 25 pie recipes. Some of them are really quite remarkable, such as Bean Pie from eastern Kentucky that's made with Navy Beans. There's Oatmeal Pie, then there's Kentucky Jam Pie. All I want to do right now is make pie after pie.

I'm glad I bought the monster box of Pillsbury pie sheets at Costco this weekend.

Now, about that waistline. And the diabetes.

Tomorrow we work on breads and miscellaneous. Then cakes, before we get into the mega-monster: cookies.

I'll join the crowd of the ailing because I ache all over from all the leaf raking I did over the weekend.  My front and back yards are both spotless, but there's an oak tree in my neighbor's yard that hasn't yet given it all up.  Any of those leaves that fall into my yard will now wait until spring to get picked up.  I've had enough yard work for one season...

I laugh (and cry) whenever I hear about revival rumors for this show.  Can you imagine them doing it with just fifteen pieces in the pit?

I just noticed your avatar is now "A Christmas Carol." I wish I could watch that TV version of that one again. As awful as it is (and much is really bad), I enjoy Kelsey Grammar as Scrooge and Jane K. I have it on video but the video player died earlier this year. Haven't decided if/when I'll be replacing that.

To get that medium band sound. "The soft beat goes rompin' on.."

I always got a kick out of Lyle Lovett and his "Large Band". Not quite a big band ...

DR JohnG - it's a great musical version of the show.  I've been doing it seasonally for  4 years now.  I kinda liked the movie as it featured some great actors, especially Claire Moore as Mrs Fezziwig.  I love the score and it's been a great way to get into the holiday season.

My cast has been rehearsing since mid-October, can't wait to see them next week!

DR Arnold M Brockman, I answered your first PM the day it came.  Check your email or your PMs here on HHW.  That said, your first PM was a generic "what one opera" and didn't make it clear you were talking about the Mehta RING cycle.  I'd go with Gotterdammerung.

Good Afternoon!

Well... I started to pack my clothes for my trip... Then I checked the weather forecast for the week... It's supposed to be 70 degrees(?!?!?) tomorrow in Richmond, with temps in the 60s for the rest of the week. So... I just threw a bunch of clothes into my duffel, and I'm hoping for the best. ::)
