EXODUS is ON DEMAND on Comcast, I started watching it last night, but didn't make it through.  Maybe I will finish it tonight.

Yes I did mean a movie about movies.....

And I agree about State and Main......

Not a fan of State and Main. I like the cast, tho.

I haven't seen this for several years, but I do recall enjoying it.

Mamet, isn't it?

JR specializes in reading biographies with "grains of salt."  ;)

Whatchu talkin' bout, Willis?

I haven't read this particular book, so I can't really comment on it.

However, I will say that authors who write scandalous biographies of dead people, who can no longer dispute their claims, have ruined this "business" for those of us who avoid the sensationalism.

Back in the 1970s, when I was writing non-fiction books about Hollywood, I had no problem garnering interviews with virtually everybody I approached (e.g. Cary Grant, Mervyn Leroy, Mary Pickford, etc.).

Then, a certain author I knew (whose name I won't mention) came out with that piece of crap that claimed Errol Flynn was a Nazi spy, and suddenly the well dried up.  People who I'd interviewed on earlier books (e.g. director Gordon Douglas) would no longer give interviews.  They no longer trusted any biographer.

I recall that this aforementioned author used to "authenticate" his claims with statements like: "So-and-So told me this before he died."

Right!

I just hope that, if the information in the Mineo bio is not true, Mr. Sherman and Mr. North sue the author.

That would force him to prove his allegations in a court of law.

You mean Errol Flynn wasn't a Nazi spy? I read that bio. Next thing you'll tell he didn't sleep with Tyrone Power or Gary Cooper (also in that volume).

I found out (years after the fact) that a certain author who wrote a certain "biography" of a certain actress did not actually conduct some of the "star" interviews alluded to in his "book."  ;)
Hey, do seances count as conducting interviews?

Now THIS is teamwork!

I was about to post the same story/link!

I believe DR elmore may recognize a name or two in that story.

I love love love Sara Jean! She's amazing.

DOH!

So...

I took one tablet of the cough/cold medicine I usually take thinking that it was a half-dose.  Well... Then I re-read the packaging.  It turns out that one tablet is a full dose. SPOO!?!? *The medicine is packaged in twin blister packs, so... ???

-Although, I guess that might explain why I was so out of it the last time I took this medicine. :-\

It's been a nice quiet day with JoAnn, and I suspect that when we've watched tonight's SURVIVOR episode, we will both crash.

I need to call Steven LaBrie. He wanted to talk last night but I was off to dinner.

Ask JR about Frances' "adventures" sleeping with Ty, especially when she was asked about it by a Minute Maid orange juice exec some 20 years later.  The anecdote will have to be in a PM as this is a family site.  :)

What is an Android Tablet - a rip-off of the iPad?

I'm still researching--I believe Android is Google's new operating system.  Maybe Jose can tell us.  But, yes, it looks like an iPad, only smaller (more like a slightly larger iPhone).

DR JMK and bk - The Android Tablet is just "another" tablet computer.  There have been other "tablet PCs" out there before - there are some PC/Windows tablets on the market - but this is the first one considered to be on par with Apple's iPad.  And, yes, it run's on Google's Android operating platform. -And depending on the manufacturer, they can come in different from an iPhone-sized screen to an iPad-sized one.

Archos has five of them:

DR John G thank you for advising me to begin reading THE LACUNA  sooner than later.  I picked it up today and am glad I did.  Good timing as after a sleepless night I finished reading THE GLASS ROOM at 3:30AM.

Ginny I need to read at least 27 pages a day in order to finish THE LACUNA by Dec 13th.  Can you read that many pages in a day?  I'm not sure I can read so few pages so even more is better.

I spoke to a woman at the book store who said she loved the book from the beginning, however, most of her friends didn't like the book or began to like it after the first 50 pages.

Watching some Sky King episodes.....for a small town, Grover sure had a bunch of petty thieves.

Three episodes and we've had one robbery of the gate receipts of a charity air show, one robbery of a small town grocer, and one robbery of an armored car.

Richard and I are back from returning the rental car, doing some of his Christmas shopping, a quick stop at Kroger (which was a ZOO!), and a quick supper at Penn Station.  It's raining hard and cold, but not freezing yet.  I think it's actually supposed to be getting warmer throughout tonight and tomorrow.

Craig is making the "chicken" for the fried chicken tomorrow.  He is making vegan mashed potatoes as well.  This will be interesting.  He asked me to get 8 oz of mushrooms to make gray and I purchased 8 mushrooms.  ::)   I'm not getting any gravy ;D
