The cast album releases are not recent and none of them have ever been available on CD before - it's really exciting, actually, and one of them, I think, will have people over the moon.  And the other two aren't chopped liver.  I love these UK cast albums - two of them are London productions of US musicals, and one isn't.

Ooooh!!! 1776, maybe?

Blondel? ;)

Blondel's been out on CD (2 CD actually) for-evah!

Ah, I guess I never looked for it. I still have the LPs, as well as the Vocal Selections.

My first real job (I baby sat a little, but not much) was the summer I turned 14. I was the only employee at Jeff and Mabel's Shoppe.  It was a little grocery store attached to Jeff and Mabel's house.  Jeff was an invalid and Mabel couldn't lift anything, so I did a lot of lifting. I worked 40 hours a week 8-12 and 3-7. I can't remember what my day's off were, but they weren't weekends

I believe I made quite a killing, back in the day, selling an extra copy of Blondel on eBay I had gotten somehow.  I know it went for hundreds of dollars, but I can't remember how much.

Former reader Tomovoz and I actually saw that show in the West End, also back in the day.  (Not at the same time, at least probably--we didn't know each other then).

To go out for a walk or hike I can wear six to seven layers plus the scarf, hat & gloves.  One of those layers is a vest, the other a sweatshirt with a hood to pull up over my hat.

You guys should get hot headz. I've heard they are super warm!

How cold would it have to be to wear that many layers? You need a warmer jacket!  With a warm jacket i could go out if it was really cold with 3 layers max.

Great advice, Jane, but I've decided that if I need that much clothing it's probably too cold for me to be outside for any period of time.

Not really because then you will be warm.  My layers on not confining or overly bulky, just warm.  The nice thing about layering is I can remove them as I warm up.

How can you remove them if you're outside?  Wouldn't your jacket be the top layer? I would not take off my jacket in the cold!

My mom made really good Chanukah cookies this weekend. I helped decorate them. They are so good. I can't stop eating them.

Interestingly those are the vaults I raided, but the Newley show isn't showing up for them, paperwork-wise, and until it does it can't be done.

Today was cookie making day.  I did rum balls, pressed spritz sugar cookies, and oatmeal chocolate chip.  I also tried a Martha Stewart gingerbread man recipe, but they came out more cake-like than hard cookie-like--too delecate in texture to make gingerbread men that would remain intact until Christmas.  So I made just plain round cookies with the rest of the batter.

All cookies are now wrapped and packed safely away from my sweet tooth...

I do hope I remembered to give you my new address.

I love Blondel.

I do, too.  I used to have the CD, but it got stolen last year with a whole bunch of other CDs. :P Anyway, I was able to (shh...don't tell anyone) copy the recording.  It's out of print and I also still have the LP, so I don't feel bad about copying it. :)
