THE YEAR IN REVIEW
« on: December 30, 2010, 12:12:59 AM »

Well, you've read the notes, the notes seemed like a year, and now it is time for you to post until the cows come home - they're reviewing their year and the one thing they've ascertained is that they did not come home.

Good morning, all! I slept terribly, given all of this angst over the payment I've been awaiting. I did hear from the McGlinn executor this morning, and I gather the check has been lost in the proverbial mail since it was posted around Dec 19 and never reached me. So, the big problem is, how do I cope with it today? Of course there are other terrible things to cope with as well, such as an email concerning me sent to the LoC "producer" who drove me completely over the edge on LIFE BEGINS AT 8:40, someone I hope never to deal with again, or the fact that I dragged myself to Toyland yesterday and waited for two hours for a colleague who never showed. At the moment I am rather unhappy and discontent about most aspects of my existence. That will change with the mood swings, but today I am certainly in a kick-ass mood this morning. That said, I am really happy that DR TCB regained his lost funds and I'm very happy to have both DRs Danise and Dakotacelt with us this week.

So, I've got a morning on the McGlinnventory, closing up the estate and pulling orders for customers of sold items. We didn't do as well as I hoped, but I think the executor asked us to price things too highly. After that, edits at Toyland. With the way my luck is going, the check will arrive today after I've told him to stop payment and send another!

TCM's moving tribute to the film artisans lost in 2010 (Blake Edwards died too late for the cut.)

Thursday morning greetings!  Because I went to sleep so early last night, I've been awake since about 6:30am.  It's raining here in SW Ohio, but the temps are well above freezing.

From what I had read on the internets, I guess I expected to watch that Kennedy Center clip and see Sutton Foster pull out a knife and stab somebody.

TOD:

I like the performances in MAD MEN, especially Jon Hamm, Elizabeth Moss, and Christina Hendricks

I liked Jim Carrey and Ewen MacGregor in I LOVE YOU PHILLIP MORRIS and Natalie Portman and Barbara Hershey in BLACK SWAN.

I shall need to see some other lists to make me think.

OK, so I'm sitting here in the family room, which is at the back of the house.  About 20 minutes ago, the house kind of "shuddered" and I heard the jingle bells that are hanging on the inside of the front door (3 rooms away).  Now posts are showing up on Facebook and Twitter suggesting that we may have had an earthquake.

DR Cillaliz, I must have logged off last night before seeing your question re: the book I was talking about it. It's called Last Sacrifice by Richelle Mead (the final book in the series). This is one of my favorite series. Right now i'm on page 250/600. I just hope the ending is satisfying.
