DR Jane (or anybody) do you plan  to watch the new USA show FAIRLY LEGAL that starts tomorrow?  It only starts here on Feb 2nd. But it looks interesting.  We've only had 2 episodes so far of the other new USA show, COVERT AFFAIRS. But so far I love this show.

We watched between one & two episodes of Covert Affairs & Keith wanted to stop watching.  I liked but not enough to encourage giving it another try.   Fairly Legal seems to have good reviews.  If there is room I will record it.

We should have HARRY'S LAW with Kathy Bates to watch along with a few other new shows.  We watched the first episode of LIGHT'S OUT and I'm not sure I want to continue watching.  I think we will give it one more chance.

I watched Monday's "Harry's Law" and I liked it a lot.

Thanks.  It is one of the new shows I'm looking forward to.  I think we should first watch those that have a good chance of getting removed & reduce what we record.

It is a lesser goldfinch. They are quite small.

Probably an American goldfinch. We don't get those here.

Yesterday the Monarch Scientist and I went to check out the monarchs at the overwintering spot at the river, and this is what we saw:

American goldfinches are even brighter than the ones we get here, except their colors fade in the winter. I think.

This is an American Goldfinch. There used to be flocks of them around my house at the lake

I did not take this photo

Yes, they fade in the winter, that's why I thought your lesser goldfinch was the same as our goldfinch

Lovely photos, DR Laura.   Is there any tracking mechanism that would allow you to know if the butterflies that were in your back yard are the same as the butterflies you see overwintering?   Yes, I know there are millions of butterflies, just wondering how they track the tags

There are numbers on the tags. I give that info to the Monarch Scientist and she turns it in to both a southwest group that tracks them as well as the nationwide group that monitors them.

Mostly now, she nets and tags them and I photograph for documentation.

Because of her work, Arizona is getting quite a bit of recognition.
