I am going to watch the SAG Awards, because they are showing them at 5:00 and again at  8:00 here.  I wonder if the winners will be different for the two showings?

The SAG Awards sounds like something that should be given out by Weight Watchers.

And Jane, did Craig ever hear back about the Portland job?

I am certainly glad that the SAG Awards are on at 5:00, or I would probably end up watching the Pro Bowl instead.

I, too, completed my taxes last night.  My Federal Return has been accepted.  It always takes the State Return a couple of days longer.  Of course I OWE the State $257.....crazy!

I will use most of my Federal Refund to pay that bill.

You are NOT taxed more on the basis of race, sex, or age - BUT you are taxed MORE if you are single.  It is the single discrimination that drives me up the wall.

I am curious.  Those of you that have a state income tax; do you also have a sales tax?

I thought most states have both.  I would prefer no income tax to our no sales tax.

We do not have a state income tax in Washington.  Instead, we have a retail sales tax that varies by city or county.  It ranges from 7.7% to 9.5%

Food and prescription drugs are exempt.

I like that.  When we were in Seattle we were surprised stores could accept our Oregon l driver's license & not charge us a sales tax.

Keith absolutely does not want to go with me & I doubt Craig does.  Even if he did I doubt enough to be willing to leave Yogi in the car outside the movie theater.

Olympia.  Thank you for asking.  He heard how much they liked him but they went with someone with local experience.  He has an interview in Pittsburg next month.

Today I did laundry, went shopping, and I did a little cleaning around the house.  Or I also remembered to get dressed.

Can't Yogi stay home with Keith and Sherlock?

DR MBARNUM - I liked SECRET FILE HOLLYWOOD except for the strange music score.....and the Universal Studios sound effect for doors closing.....

Do you think many US Americans think that the GEICO commercial that has some film of Abraham Lincoln telling Mary that the dress makes her backside look big.....is actually sound film of President Lincoln.

DR CILLA LIZ - we are expecting the snow on Tuesday and Wednesday as well.

And I think TRUE GRIT and THE KING'S SPEECH were my favorites this year, too....although I really liked BLACK SWAN.

No income tax in Texas, either. Sales tax varies from about 7.5 to 8.5 percent, from county to county or even town to town.

Sorry - Richard and I made a sudden decision to go grocery shopping right after hearing on the 6pm news that we're in for an ICE-pocalypse tomorrow evening into Tuesday.  Didn't even take time to log out.

I wrote half the contextual commentary then went out for a sandwich and onion rings.  I came back to find the power had gone off momentarily.  It's not raining anymore so why that happened is anyone's guess.  It shut the computer down (thank goodness everything was "saved") and I had to reset two clocks.  It apparently happened about ten minutes before I got back.

Why would you leave the house with your computer on?

Why not?  It goes to sleep after ten minutes.
