One of these days I'll have to tell y'all about how Linda Purl played a part in our backstage shenanigans at my college theatre department.  There will probably be disapproving looks--it had to do with her TV movie LIKE REAL PEOPLE.

It is a bit cold today (but it's February, so it's supposed ot be cold), but SUgar and I did the MAMBO today in the street on our walk.  I would have Mambo'ed the entire way but we ran into a garbage can that someone hadn't taken in from the curb.

Today is the 152nd birthday of Victor Herbert.

I hope some of you will find a moment to listen to a favorite Victor Herbert selection, instrumental or vocal. My choice will be "Barney O'Flynn" from BABES IN TOYLAND, which I believe has one of Glen MacDonough's better lyrics and Herbert writing in his best nationalistic styles.

I think I will venture to the post office and check out the elements.

Am on hold for the next half hour or more with Southwest, trying to find out if I can cancel my trip. It went from 78 degrees during the day to 37 degrees overnight here. I can imagine what it's like up where I'm supposed to be going.

This was a recent vegetable dish I had that was out of this world: Roasted beet salad with truffle oil and a quenelle of goat cheese on top.

The "Catch Me If You Can" website has full recordings of four songs from the show with Kerry Butler, Tom Wopat and more. I listened then last night and liked the music. I wasn't quite as taken with the lyrics, but maybe they'll improve on second hearing.

I watched WE'RE NO ANGELS last night, the Humphrey Bogart version.

The movie has a very charming song in it, "Sentimental Moments".  It's by (music) Frederick Hollander and (lyrics) by Ralph Freed.

I've been humming it all morning.

Does anybody know i this song has ever been recorded and, if so, where I might get a copy?

Thanks.

Put Ice Melt on the sidewalk for the mailman - hopefully he will be able to get here before the next round of ice shows up.
