Home today.  "Real" teachers at my school have an Archdiocesan in-service that I didn't have to go to.  Good chance to get some errands done (still on the couch) or some chores done (sitting on the couch) registering for the Religious Ed Congress (can do while sitting on the couch - still sitting on the couch).  So, the day has been slow!

TOD:

DVD - Doctor Atomic, Act Two

JRand, I ordered the Met's "Doctor Atomic" on your recommendation.  I got it from Amazon.com and it should arrive sometime next week. :)

I got the first DVD from the library.  I didn't watch the whole thing, though.  I think that I was in the middle of a show and didn't have time, so I returned it.  I also just requested the documentary, "Wonders Are Many : The Making of Doctor Atomic."  Our library has three copies and none are checked out.  I should get it on Monday or Tuesday.

BK, if Linda broke her ankle, she will probably be having surgery. She's probably out for a while -- unless she can sit and sing.

BK, you shouldn't have made Linda practice those high kicks.

Maybe she was doing chin-ups...and fell on her heels.

I'm pretty grumpy today.  This has just been one hard-ass week and I'm worn out.
Ditto.

Gray skies are gonna clear up,
Put on a happy face;
Brush off the clouds and cheer up,
Put on a happy face.
Take off the gloomy mask of tragedy,
It's not your style;
You'll look so good that you'll be glad
Ya' decided to smile!
Pick out a pleasant outlook,
Stick out that noble chin;
Wipe off that "full of doubt" look,
Slap on a happy grin!
And spread sunshine all over the place,
Just put on a happy face!

I'm up, I'm up - very odd dreams.  I was in bed just about to arise when Gregory Harrison called telling me the rather astonishing news that Linda broke her ankle this morning.  So, today's rehearsal is cancelled and we're holding tomorrow to see what's what - then Gregory is canceling his Monday trip so we can get in a couple of days before Linda leaves.  We'll see what's what and re-block as necessary.

~~~Quick Recovery Vibes for Linda Purl!!~~~
Linda was having surgery this morning.  I'm sure we'll all be talking tomorrow, but I've already pretty much know she'll be on a stool for the show.
My friend Kelly did a very good presentation on heart health for women.  On the way home I fed my car and had it cleaned inside and out and I'll swear it runs more smoothly now.  Of course, it's supposed to snow again tomorrow...
Let's give a nod to Charles Strouse, as well, as I'm certain no one can read Adams' lyrics without "hearing" Strouse's tune.
I hate the world!
I hate my life!
And I especially hate the IRS!
I stayed up late on the night of January 27, so that I could submit my 2010 taxes online (e-file).  I got a confirmation back ten minites later saying that they had accepted my return.  Three days later on their website they told me that I would have my return on February 4.  So today I go to my bank account - no income tax check.  Now the IRS says that due to delays in proccessing, I will now have my return on the 18th!
GREAT!  Try telling that to my landlord and to the utility company.  Arrrrrrrrrrgggggggggggggggggg!
