"Previews" should be done as a trial in a not-on-Broadway setting.

Obviously, I am not in show-biz.

It's the same with restaurants. One used to wait eight weeks or so after a restaurant opened, so the kitchen staff could get used to the space, the waiters would know how to move around the restaurant with ease, etc. Now, people are posting reviews on their cellphones within minutes of the door opening.

Adam Feldman is the President of The New York Drama Critics Circle. His characterization on a public board carries more weight than any indiviual member.

At any rate, he's now made clear that it was never about concern for the consumer, but because they wanted to sell papers due to readership interest. But there's no need to argue here. unlike ATC, we're all friends here.

I would have, DR Ginny, but I was too distracted by a family of five who were spread out over three rows. Dad was in the middle seat in front of my row. Mom and 3 yr old boy were in the row with me ( I had the aisle seat) and the two older kids were behind us.

While waiting to take off the 3 yr old kept shouting "Mommy, the plane's not going!" He quieted down after 10 minutes or so, but during the flight he jumped over the seat to join his brother and sister and later to his father. The kids switched seats. The mother turned to me after about 4 hours into the 6 hour flight and said "I need a break. I'm going to switch with my husband. You probably need a break too--why don't you switch with that lady?"

DR KevinH, my theory of child care is simple: kids in comas cause no problems.

Miss Molly had a little bit of weeping on her stitches, so she is spending the night under observation at Dr. Uhl's. The vet doesn't think it's infected, but, after x-rays, decided that there might be a little hernia under one of the sutures, so she wanted to keep Miss Molly overnight.

I had a great time at Encores! with Joshie and his brother Jeremy who's also helping us get the score ready for the Feb 24 orchestra readng. Joshie spiral bound my scores, then found he had no binder large enough for the Act One score, so I stopped at Kinko's on my way home and now I have a beautifully bond orchestra score for WHERE'S CHARLEY?

I think I'll tidy up here, watch JUDGE JUDY, run to the bank for dome cash and have a nice dinner. After that, maybe I'll watch THE MANCHURIAN CANDIDATE.

I came across some "rare" video footage of Guy Haines singing. I took in the recording studio during Jeepers Creepers. His face unfortunately is obscured by the microphone. It runs less than a minute. I wonder if he would allow me to post it on Youtube

10) a rediscovered Terence Rattigan play, LESS THAN KIND
11) NT's FRANKENSTEIN directed by Danny Boyle with Benedict Cumberbatch.
12) THE HERETIC at The Royal Court
13) J.B. Priestly's WHEN WE ARE MARRIED

All were well worth seeing, many were great, all the rest good.

As for SPIDERMAN the musical. Sorry, even if you call it a preview, once you start charging full price, you've opened and are fair game for the critics.
