I just ate some Quaker Instant Oatmeal (apples and cinnamon) and felt the need to wash my cup right away afterward.

My influence reaches all the way to California.

I had oatmeal today for the first time since Monday. I had plain oatmeal (we buy it in the large containers at Western Beef since we both have it for breakfast) with walnuts, raisins and a teaspoon of cinnamon (it goes in the microwave for 5 minutes with a stir or two during the process) and a cup of coffee.

You put a cup of coffee in your oatmeal?

I am back from Toyland and ready for a nap. On the uptown bus we had an obnoxious, loud young lady who talked nonstop for the sixteen minutes it took to ride from where I stepped onto the bus at 27th Street to Central Park where she and her friend got off. Talk about All About Me!

I think her friend got in about three or four sentences. The other one talked and talked and talked and talked and . . .

Jane, try putting one cup of milk and .25 cup of steel-cut oats in a container and letting it sit 24 hours in the refrigerator. Then cook it. It will cook fairly quickly and won't be gritty.

I put mine on to cook, rinse the container out, and refill it for the next day.

If we ever have steal oats in the house I shall try that.  Since I don't eat it every day I would have to tell myself very early I wanted oatmeal the next day ;)

Craig is in Pittsburgh this weekend.  I'm not sure if he will get a chance to visit Carnegie Mellon to walk around the campus.

I'm feeling good. I don't have any pain (as I've said before). I'm eating well and I'm sleeping through the night. I think I'll be going back to work on Tuesday without a problem. If I do feel worn out on Tuesday and feel like it's too soon, I'll just take a few days more. I'll just take it day to day.

You are very lucky DR Ben :)  Don't forget you can always go into work late & leave early the first day, just to see how you do.

This is a bizarre evening. I'm too tired to do anything, but I cannot sleep. I would like to go to bed early so I can do laundry first thing tomorrow morning before I head off to Toyland and, later in the afternoon, a meeting about this Appalachian Christmas piece.

So, Mae-Ling and Wae-Ling Goldstein were outside playing in the rain. They came inside and we made some vegetable soup. Afterwards, Wae-Ling saw my ipod and asked to listen to it. She asked me to find Annie, and while I was looking for it, she started to sing "It's a hard-knock life for us ..."

Valley Youth Theater will be performing Annie this summer. I think I need to buy some tickets.

Sweet.  Funny too.  I thought after listening to her sing you were going to suggest she try out for a part in the play.

Well I managed to get the dreaded laundry done.  And the dogs needed a bath.  Then the bathroom needed a bath.   Then I needed a bath.

I'm tired.

matthew - this mother would be so much happier if you would go get that chest pain checked out - even if it has passed......

Thanks, vixmom, for the concern.  However, it really wasn't a pain more like a muscle ache.  It was definitely a muscle issue and not a "pain" if that make sense :)

not to be a nag or a gloomy gus - but I would just like to point out  that the heart is a muscle....

Danise, don't get your hopes up. I am sorry to tell you that my mother was a creditor in a bankruptcy for a company that defrauded her. With an estate of $24,000 in assets, after the lawyers, trustee, and taxes were paid, only $225 was left, and it was given to someone else.

Thanks, Laura.  I wonder if that was a Chapter 7 because that's personal not a company.   Still I'm just going to hope for the best and expect the worse.  That seems to be the only thing that works.

Had a fun work session with the twelve-year-old and have finished the song choices - too many, and now we'll narrow it down to twelve or thirteen.  Then we went to Casa Vega for a late lunch - at three-thirty it was jammed with people and it got worse.  By the time we left at five there were about thirty people waiting to get in.  This, someone can explain to me, because it defies all logic.
