MR BK - I think you should do the staged reading.

Here is the Sparks Notes analysis of Charley.

Another Charlie  description

Charlie:
Charlie is the Loman's next door neighbor, and owns his own sales firm. He and Willy do not get along very well, but they are friends nonetheless. Charlie is always the voice of reality in the play, trying to set Willy straight on the facts of Willy's situation, but Willy refuses to listen.

I think you should play him like Charlie Sheen.

I only saw Inception and Harry Potter among the movies that received any kind of nominatons. I don't think it qualifies me to make a prediciton or waste my time watch the show. I might tape it and watch any moment that might be interesting after the fact

Good morning, all! My last dream had something to do with a production of THE MUSIC MAN, one of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, and the score to WHERE'S CHARLEY? That's all I remember of it.

I have little to report today. I am heading down to Toyland shortly. I believe I'll be there for several hours. Following that, I will return here, catch up on the mail and other events, get together tomorrow morning's laundry, and chill out.

I have absolutely no Oscar thoughts. I 'm sure the winners will be happy and the losers will grin and bear it. I liked TRUE GRIT very very much, more than THE KIDS ARE ALL RIGHT, and I suppose I wish it the best. I have the DVD of THE SOCIAL NETWORK sitting here, and I really wanted to see THE KING'S SPEECH. Unlike DR Nursie, I have no preconceived notions or negative thoughts about either.

Saturday morning greetings!  I'm about to get myself together and head out to the retirement community to deliver some things to my Mom and to tend to some things for my Aunt.  From there I'm off to Joseph-Beth Books in Cincinnati to hear Jennifer Chiaverini talk about her new Elm Creek Quilts novel.

BK, I also think you should do the reading.  I, on the other hand, have decided not to audition for AND MISS REARDON DRINKS A LITTLE because I really don't like the material and there's too much going on in my family right now to make that kind of commitment.

TOD:

THE KING'S SPEECH
Colin Firth
Natalie Portman (I would prefer Annette Benning)
Christian Bale (I would prefer Geoffrey Rush)
Melissa Leo
Tom Hooper-director
TOY STORY 3

TOD: I surprised myself the other day by realizing I've seen seven of the 10 nominated movies. How did that happen? Many on DVD already, I guess.

Best Picture -- "True Grit," although "King's Speech" is better
Best Actor -- Colin Firth
Best Actress -- Natalie Portman
Best Supporting Actor -- Christian Bale
Best Supporting Actress -- Helena Bonham Carter is who I'd like, but it will probably go to Melissa Leo
Best Director -- David Fincher, "Social Network"

We've seen several of the Oscar nominees, but we haven't seen 2 of the biggies - SOCIAL NETWORK and BLACK SWAN - so I'm going to abstain from predictions.  I'm usually wrong, anyway.

Yesterday DR Jane wrote:

Try the breast stroke next time.  When I do the crawl stroke, my favorite, I only go all the way over with my left arm.  With my right I only go straight forward and back with my arm under the water the entire time.  Also wash your hair only using your good arm until the sore one feels better.

I'm impressed you can stay on a flutterboard without using your arms.

I didn't say that I didn't use my arms on the flutterboard. I have to hold the board. But I don't have to move my arms.

As for the breast stroke, i won't go fast enough doing that. But I do agree it would probably be easier on my shoulder.

I wonder if going straight forward and back would work. I might try that.

DR Cillaliz, re: your shoulder. It sounded like you were in more pain than i was.

It's hard to explain what is wrong with my shoulder. I can move my arm. But last night it was hurting a lot and it actually sort of felt how it does when you get a flu shot and your arm feels really sore.  It only felt like that last night (but that was after i gave both of my nieces baths. So having to lift them probably wasn't too great.

It felt better when i woke up. So probably rest is good. I'm going to try not to use it too much.

Greetings from Chelsea. I was up early and got a haircut (8:15am) and now I'm home. It's colder today. We have no plans.

That's all for now.

Greetings from the great white north.  It's snowing again.  Not bad snow. But enough to fill in all the footprints in my yard from last night's escapades so I'll know if they return tonight.  Not expecting that to happen.

I do need to try to get out, which shouldn't be a problem.  I'm invited to a dinner/going away party for a friend tonight.  She hates getting gifts and knows much more about wine than I do....think I'll take the blueberry beer I tasted at the home show, it was really tasty and would be something a little different.

Fuddy  duddy that I am, my Oscar predictions are that I have not seen one single nominated movie (I take it back-- I saw Toy Story 3)   and that if I watched the televised Oscar ceremonies that I would not know who half (if not more) of the people are.
