Thanks, FJL, for posting "Will the Sun Ever Shine Again." I didn't think much of the movie "Home on the Range," but I did like the songs.

I do have a fear it accidentally fell into the trash can and is gone forever.

My Mother thinks she did this with a very nice and fairly expensive ring

TOD: Just about the whole score for "Little Shop"
"Just Around the River Bend"
"Never Again" from "King David"
"Little Patch of Heaven" from "Home on the Range"
"Under the Sea"
"Kiss the Girl"
"Beauty and the Beast"

I've been trying to find our last uptempo song for a guy and didn't know Little Patch of Heaven - it seems very bouncy and fun from the snippet I just heard, so it looks like it might end up being that or You've Never Had a Friend Like Me.  Otherwise, lots of the listed songs are in our Menken show.
That's quite a compliment. Thank you.

Hello, everyone.

Re: lost objects, mine are usually right where they should be, but somehow I just didn't see them. Don't ask me how; all I can say is that I have an amazing ability to look right at something and not see it. I "lost" a necklace I'd taken with me on a trip to LA several years ago. It turned up recently. It was so small it got wedged into something, and even though I'd looked there, I just never saw it. Eventually they turn up. But, yes, sometimes you need them NOW.

Vibes for finding the scores and Jane's keepsakes.

KevinH-  Do you get the sense that Ms. Kind would have stood out as a performer to have been a bigger star had she not had a famous sister?

Yes, I do!  She's got a great stage presence in addition to a pleasing voice.

I'm back on the internet at home!! I can't believe the good timing.  I got home and saw that the cable guys were working in the building.  They hooked me up with cable and I decided to ditch verizon internet and get it through Cox Cable.  I need to get a router for wireless service, but wired is fine for now.

DR elmore-- I read once that missing items are usually within 18 inches of where they should be.  Not sure if that applies in your case!

Well the scores are 11x17, so they should be pretty apparent!

I do that which is why I return multiple times to where the item should be and where I thought it was.  This time I had to rush off before putting the box in a safe place and can't find where I put it.  Until I needed it I had thought it was where it belonged.

Sadly most of my grandmother's things were in storage in London & the storage building was bombed during WWII.  This was a very special piece which was in a box with most of my personal special pieces.

I'm back from a long day out and about. Blood tests, accountant, Toyland, Encores, where I sat through the runthrough with orchestra of WHERE'S CHARLEY? I got home to find waiting a very ugly email from the head of the Institute, and I've written a very angry response, which I will not mail until tomorrow. I've got more books to cart out of there. I don't know what to do about the computer.

Sherlock had his updated rabies vaccination today and weighed in at 119+ pounds.   I didn't hear the plus part.  The vet's office had a local story up of a dog in quarantine after tangling with a grey fox.  Had the dog not been vaccinated quarantine would be for six months instead of four.  I'm shocked there would be any time if the pet is vaccinated.  People don't get put into quarantine that I know of.

Tonight is another Jean Harlow night on TCM.  First we see 20 year old Jean in a very mediocre performance in PUBLIC ENEMY - although it has James Cagney and Mae Clarke to compensate for it.

Then we get TWO glorious Jean pictures - BLONDE BOMBSHELL (from Columbia - made because Jean's gangster boyfriend Abner "Longy" Zwillman made Columbia boss Harry Cohn a loan of $500,000.)

And the glorious LIBELED LADY - another top notch comedy, this time from MGM - with Jean wearing the lovely wedding dress she would be buried in a few years hence.

Back from errands and whatnot and listening to tapes - we've found the motherlode for a classic horror film - it's been added to the queue.

There will be no one in the office after I leave. Maybe I should call my Mac man and tell him to come and get it.

I'm listening to Part 2 of a BBC program on

George Formby Episode 2

Vixdad might know who he was and I'm sure Pogue knows of him but I think to much of the world, especially the U.S., he's forgotten. He's a fascinating character.

Here is the link to Episode 1

George Formby Episode 1

I LOVE the BBC

ah yes -- Vixdad did indeed introduce me to George Fornby   - I suspect former DR Tomovoz is also familiar with his work
