I did, indeed, have a short nap and woke up in time to meet Anita, who had been scoping out our dinner options. We drove to the other end of downtown to the Spaghetti Warehouse, which is in the original 1869 B. F Goodrich factory building. Got back here just in time for a fire alarm and then to attend the pre-conference book discussion of Nicholas Kristof's Half the Sky.
This hotel used to be a Crowne Plaza, but has been bought by the adjacent University of Akron. The first 3 floors are still hotel space, but the other 5 floors are student housing. It's very weird to see the mix in the elevators of college students and middle aged/elderly women.
