Last night the Vixter stayed over at a friends' house and Vixdad and I went out to dinner --- when we got home we sat down to watch TV and the next thing I knew it was this morning

BK I am sorry I couldn't even finish reading your post about Black Sunday -- I have never seen the point of these bloody violent films -- I do not understand the appeal of the Friday the 13th, Chainsaw massacre, SAW etc type movies -- it turns my stomach

heck I have to turn away when Bill Sykes falls in Oliver

FJL  you have been missed as well -  what is new in your neck of the woods?  Has your legal battle been resolved or does it still drag on?

I would avoid Roger Corman's SHARKTOPUS and DINOSHARK.

Good morning, all! I slept very late, accompanied by many weird dreams, the last being an attempt to print a computer image onto a bolt of cloth. Somewhere within this dream, which tok place at my old 94th Street apartment, I was working a construction job in Ohio, I think. I also was at an unemployment office.

I have to run errands today, now that I am out of bed. After that, I think I will tidy up the EILEEN papers left floating about the apartment, vacuum, and generally tidy up the place.

Welcome back, DR JMK!

The first film I remember seeing with Peter Lorre is 20,000 LEAGUES UNDER THE SEA. I also love him in MALTESE FALCON and ARSENIC AND OLD LACE.

Claude Rains? THE INVISIBLE MAN.

No resolution to the Unemployment matter.  the employer had put in for an appeals hearing back in (I think) November, but nothing as of now.  Thanks for asking.

But on the cyberstalking/cyberbullying  matter, and the way Ann Miner and Mike Reynolds of All that Chat chose to deal with that by protecting the bullies, it's basically out of my hands.  I've done all I can (without spending lots of my own money) to see to it that complaints have been filed against them, but I'm not interested in seeing anything kill their site.   Been very careful not to sandbag them in a way that they can cry foul - they have copies of anything that's been filed.

Last night, I worked the Fiesta Oyster Bake. I poured wine. I'm glad I didn't have to stand over hot coals while the oysters baked, as you can see above.

Fiesta, for those who have not been to San Antonio, is a 15- to 20-day excuse to party. In fact, there are many parties all over town, some of which draw more than 100,000 people. The parade on the river, the parade through downtown, the art shows, the food, the alcohol, the fun -- it's all a bit exhausting by the time it's over.

At the end of the evening, the Gin Blossoms performed. And I was surprised at how much I enjoyed the concert, which was followed by a 20-minute fireworks display.
