Well, you've read the notes, the notes were gaily-colored, and now it is time for you to post until the gaily-colored cows come home.

Easter Sunday morning greetings!  When have I ever been the first post after BK?  Ever?  We're off to Lima for church, after which we'll transfer all my stuff from Richard's car to mine and I'll drive on to my sister's in Grand Blanc, Michigan.  Until then,

Happy Easter!!!

Would love to see Michael Ritchie's version of "The Fantastiks" sometime. Always thought there was a better movie somewhere in the all-too-short mess of what I saw. Thanks for the background story on what happened.

BK,

I feel pretty much the same as you do about the movie version of THE FANTASTIKS.

It's unbelievable that Coppola would cut the opening number.

On the other hand, watching it in the "deleted scenes," the guy who plays El Gallo is so dull...and he sings it without any energy at all.

I remember liking Joel Grey in the film.

I'll be heading back to Manhattan sometime today.

We had a nice, relaxing time away from the city. It rained most of yesterday but it's sunny right now.

I'm in the dining room using the laptop (Anthony's mother's new computer). Everyone else in the house is still asleep. At some point we will dismantle the desktop in Anthony's room. I don't know if the laptop will take up permanent residence in the old space. It's nice to log on and not have to worry about waking someone up.

Anthony will be out here for a few days to take care of some business.

And that, my friends, is that.

I think we may have discussed the film version of THE FANTASTICKS a long time ago, because I have a vague memory of mentioning a continuity gaffe (which might include a deleted scene IIRC) dealing with the policeman's hair length.  Yes, I recall things like that, and yet I have no clew what my children's names are some of the time.  ;)  I quite enjoyed the "look" of the Ritchie film, I thought it was rather magical.

I was up at the veritable crack, or even the pre-crack, and must now hie myself to ostensibly direct singers and orchestra in two Easter services.  I believe I will then come home and collapse for the rest of the day.

I watched the film version of THE FANTASTICKS and was mighty disappointed in it.....I haven't watched the deleted scenes on the DVD.....so I don't know from what it was supposed to be.

BLACK SUNDAY arrived at my house yesterday - but no one brought in the mail....so I found it this morning!

Happy Black Sunday!

I uploaded my Orson Welles play last night.

Now, waiting for the proof to arrive.

That's 3 down (or up)...and three to go.

In the spirit of Easter:

ONE EASTER SUNDAY MORNING AS THE MINISTER WAS PREACHING THE CHILDREN'S SERMON, HE REACHED INTO HIS BAG OF PROPS AND PULLED OUT AN EGG.

HE POINTED AT THE EGG AND ASKED THE CHILDREN, "WHAT'S IN HERE?"

"I KNOW!" A LITTLE BOY EXCLAIMED. "PANTYHOSE !!"

There is a nice color photo of the number on the inner web, but it is from the Broadway show.....I can't find a color clip....although this seems to be from a television show or special.
