Now THAT'S a cheery movie ;)
Yeah, I can tell it is. I may have to watch Altman's "The Company" afterward.

I want a tiara.  Of course I can't think of one place to wear it, but it would be nice to have one :)

Well, Prince Harry is still available.  Go marry him and maybe the Queen would "loan" you one!

I'm sorry Elmore, I know you like her humor, but I find her very offensive.

Of course she's offensive. Do you think I'm watching her for her gentility?

Cause she's super funny!  Have you actually seen her or you just think you don't like her?

Btw, was she (Kathy Griffin) actually reporting on the wedding anywhere?

Can't wait to watch Fashion Police now to see their take on the wedding.

Kathy Griffin's dissection of the Royal Wedding is a hoot. Her guest viewers include the Sklar Brothers and Jackie Collins. I though Victoria Beckham's hat was hysterically funny. Turn to the TV Guide channel.

Is that what channel she is on? We don't get that channel here. :(

I love my life on the D list. And I actually don't find her that offensive at all.

Well, Griffin's event was fun. It was nice to stick a pin into some of the pomp and pageantry, and it was excedingly rude and outrageously low. That doesn't mean I'm against the Royal Wedding. I wish the couple all the best, and I think the British support for the event is quite moving.  It was beautifully and smoothly accomplished and I very much enjoyed what I saw of the wedding earlier today, but I can certainly laugh at it as well.  Didn't Elton John look as though he was ready to play The Penguin for Batman? Didn't all those ladies in hats look like a white Tyler Perry movie?

As Miss Jane Austen wrote, "For what do we live, but to make sport for our neighbors, and laugh at them in our turn?"

Some of those ridiculous hats, like the ones worn by Mrs Beckham and Fergie's daughters, with those cantilevered headdresses hanging off the forehead, went far beyond a scale of 10 for idiocy. Were they nailed to the ladies' heads? Fergie's daughters' hats looks as though they were antennae receiving signals from space.  It just screamed for Carol Burnett to be there as Miss Starlet or Mildred Fierce.

I loved it when Queen Elizabeth nodded off.

And Miss Austen was a minister's daughter.

And the greatest manipulator of the English language since Shakespeare. She is the Mozart of literature.

Mostly I tried not to listen to the narration.  I still have hours left to watch & they just got to the Palace.  I missed the hat which I'm sure I will catch later.  I thought the hats the royals wore were rather funny.

The wedding party looked perfect, IMHO.  The coach ride back was fun to watch.

I'm now watching a sober, buttkissing dissection of the wedding on Dateline. Griffin's was better.

Didn't two babies just fledge this nest a short time ago, Jane?

I think this is a different nest.

No, I think it's still Phoebe

Then it was a different type of birds that flew the nest or Phoebe is on her second set.

I loved the wedding and have no interest in watching Kathy Griffing try to be funny about it.  She's just plain rude.

Exactly how I feel!  I had enjoy trouble listening to the fun joyful chatter on CNN.

DR John G I would not like that particular ice cream sandwich.  I have a recipe for chocolate cookies I serve with various ice cream flavors for guest to make their own sandwich.  My favorite is coffee ice cream with the cookies.  Next time I'll include an assortment of nuts to add.  Since I'm very allergic to hazelnuts they will be kept away from me.

I remember very little of the wedding between Charles and Diana.  I had spent too many hours on the boardwalk at the Jersey shore, and I was suffering through a very serious case of sun stroke.    I drifted in and out through the whole affair, and I remember only bits and pieces.

I had some matzo brie at noon, I jogged, I did errands and whatnot, I picked up no packages and no important envelope, and we had our second rehearsal, which was a bit rougher than I like, once again thanks to homework not being done.  We'd also changed a couple of keys and somehow that didn't get put on the actual music, so those sorts of things drive me a little nuts.  However, the singers are great and we have several show-stopping numbers in the show.  I cut one song out of a medley (the big Annie section), I flipped the order of two songs, and I'd forgotten to put a song on the list, so I figured out where that went.

that's the fun of the recipe. You could do whatever you like. I personally like the idea of a lemon cookie with lemon curd and lemon ice cream, because I love lemon. No nuts needed.

Or a sugar cookie with some strawberry ice cream and again lemon curd.

A chocolate cookie with peanut butter is good, too. I think I liked the chocolate with apricot jam and chocolate ice cream best.
