I took a spin on my new bike.   I'm going to like it but it is still a lot of work to pedal.   I think there's a couple things that need tweaking but it's I'm definitely going to have to get in shape if I'm going to ride this very much

Good Morning! Good Afternoon!

I'm up, I'm up... And after a somewhat overcast morning here in NYC, the clouds have parted and the sun is out, and... I think I just want to take a nap... ???

I took another ride down a very steep hill to the gas station to put more air in the tires ( I had to hand pump enough to do that).   It acted strange coming up the hill, then the seat came loose, lol.   So I came home, tweaked a few things and took it for one more quick ride.  This time I think I've figured it all out.  My neighbor was walking his dogs and couldn't believe how fast I made it up and down the hills in my neighborhood.  I really think I'm going to like this.  I'm going to pace myself though, I am really out of shape and I still need to pedal.

LOL, no need to, when the motor kicks in it sort of sounds like that

Glad you got out of the tunnel, Jose.

I'm actually glad that the bus that I was on left a few minutes late and got caught in that traffic earlier in the trip.  Otherwise, there's a good chance that we would have been stuck in the tunnel, rather than on the approach to the toll plaza.

Well... Will you at least be installing a banana seat? Or one of those "flags" on the long pole? ::)

I'm supposed to totally drain the battery, but it's a Lithium-Ion so it shouldn't ruin it if I charge it tonight.   I'm thinking I'll try to take a longer ride tomorrow.   I'm really tired now.  Happy, but tired

DR JOSE's story reminds me of yet ANOTHER I Love Lucy episode.

Lucy's mother Mrs. McGillicuddy is coming into town, and there is some confusion about her arrival time.  Ricky & Lucy come in from the train station to find her at the apartment.

The Mrs. M says that she got tired of waiting and took a city bus to their apartment and the driver let her off at the front door.

Lucy:  But, Mother, the bus doesn't come down our street.

Mrs. M:  THAT"S what the bus driver tried to tell me!

I love that scene!

I'd really like streamers to stick out of my handlebars and maybe a basket with a flower on the front of it.

As for "Atlas Shrugged", "The Fountainhead" and Ayn Rand...

I was talking with a friend of mine who is completing his Master's of Music Education in Illinois. He mentioned that there is some group who hands out free copies of "Atlas Shrugged" and "The Fountainhead" to high school students. -He got his copy when one of his students had an extra one. ???

When I was in high school, I had a history test the day I found out my grandpa died and I couldn't do it.  I literally wadded it up, threw it away and walked out.  My teacher gave me "Atlas Shrugged" and told me to read it and write a report on it and he'd let me take the test again.  So I did.  I liked it.   Then we studied "The Fountainhead" in my high school college prep lit class.

And...

In other news...

I got the "permission" to fly out to San Diego for my brother's wedding during the run of Oklahoma!. It will be a quick trip for me - just Friday to Monday - but the rest of my family will be going out for a full week, Tuesday to Tuesday. At least that gives me plenty of time to drop a few pounds and buy a new suit. ;)

And it looks like I may be staying on down in DC for a few more weeks after Oklahoma! closes. Details to come sooner or later. -Probably later at this point. ;)

OK...

I think I'm going to take a quick walk over to the Park and stretch my legs and build up my Vitamin-D.

Laters...

I am back from My Dinner With Val. We went to Dean's Pizza and had a fantastic time. It's the first time I've been there that the service was sloppy. We sat with pour menus for over 15 minutes before any of the waiters came to our table. Food was good, though.

DR Jose, several years ago I was on a bus stuck in the tunnel coming from the Newark airport. A truck had broken down and we had to wait till the police arrived and a towing vehical. Between my clautrophobia and the fumes I was ready to do Lucia's mad scene. You were very lucky last night.

I will now watch Downton Abbey, Part 1.

While I was waiting for Val, I got to check out all the new titles, and this book caught my eye. I think the book layout and illustrations are amazing and beautiful.

These are most of the images on the Amazon.com page for the book, and there are others in the book even more striking.

DR Jennifer, I'm sure Joan Rivers had some good critiques for the more ridiculous hats. Have you caught the documentary yet?

The weather was so nice here today. Really sunny. It was only low 60s. But compared to the cold and rainy weather we've had this was amazing. There were so many people at the lake. I rode my bike around for almost an hour. Just because it was so nice to be out in the sun.
