No, DR Jane, I haven't read MAJOR PETTIGREW, but it has been highly recommended.

Tomorrow my group is discussing ANGLE OF REPOSE.  I'm looking forward to the discussion of this beautifully written novel.  I'm not looking forward to sitting so long-not that i will.  i will have to get up often to stretch my arms.  how i shall hold a plate on my lap to eat the goodies i have no idea

I just noticed that TCB and Laura have passed milesones!  (Sorry that I didn't catch them at the actual moments.)  So, here's the first ever double-plateau post:

And I doubt you'll read any of what I wrote because your posts over and over again show you read very little of ours.

Of course I read your post.

I just want to say that I didn't see my morning post as a rant but rather fond memories. I enjoyed seeing the play segments but it doesn't mean that they worked in my opinion. It wasn't negative.

So lets end this thread now. Please no more comments. Thank you

Oy.  We may be losing our second set of tenants.  I swear to heaven these people should not be signing leases.

In better news, I got a huge package o'DVDs from a vintage TV guy MBarnum recommended to me.  I watched a couple episodes of the short-lived WAY OUT series from 1961, a TWILIGHT ZONE knockoff starring Roald Dahl, and I am currently watching the affiliate presentation from NBC for the 1960-61 season.  It's fun.

Good Evening!

Greetings from Fairfax, Virginia!

My bus got in on time. I only had to wait 5 minutes at McPherson Square for an Orange Line train out to Vienna. And my brother stopped at Wendy's on the way back to his place. So far, so good. ;)

I missed both the Tonys and the HHW bash last night.

I got involved working on a project that I have been  very lax in moving forward on, and I didn't want to stop. Normally when I begin working on this, or other projects I need to be working on, I get distracted by ther inerweb or the television machine. This time I just couldn't let that happen.

And if you should not hear or see much of me in the future, it is only because I am actully getting down to seriously working on these  things.

Is it time for your annual buffing again? ;)

And Elmore, I can't believe you would even think that I would be sexting Broadway players...I mean, I don't even know how to sext.

...And I bet you batted your eyes as you typed that.

Since I will be going to NYC in April, I should have watched the Tonys so that I could see what might be running at that time.

Whatever, I do hope there are some fun plays/musicals to see when I get there.

Well, by next April you'll have a whole new crop of shows to pick from. By that time, I'm guessing How To Succeed... will be closed - unless they find another major box-office draw to replace Daniel Radcliffe. And I'm suspecting that Priscilla and Sister Act may be closed by then too. Anything Goes just announced an extension into 2012. As for The Book of Mormon, well, they just raised their ticket prices.

War Horse could still be running by next April too. Alas, most of the current "hit" plays are just limited runs.

But, in the meantime, I'm sure we'll be keeping you posted. ;)

I was all excited the year we went to New York right after the Tony Awards. I knew just what I wanted to see. And almost everything closed within a couple of weeks after the Awards show.

And...

Lin-Manuel Miranda just posted the clip of last night's closing number/rap from The Tonys on his blog. -As well as some behind-the-scenes footage of him and Tommy Kail writing it during the broadcast. -And a few celebrities drop by too. :)

Thought for the day - When the flow hits the max tomorrow, the water flow coming out of Gavins Point Dam toward Sioiux City could fill an olympic sized swimming pool every 59 hundreths of a second. I can't even imagine that

Thanks, I'm just amazed by the statistics.   They think the force of the river is cutting the channel deeper, so that may lessen the flood, but it's also spreading out.   They have closed part of I-29 and may close it all the way from Sioux City to Omaha - close to 90 miles.  We'll see. The current detour is such a bear, if I have to go to Omaha, I'll take 2 lane roads through Nebraska

We really are in the wait and see phase now.  They are still filling sandbags, but these are more of a stockpile because no one expects the levees to hold 100 percent and they'll need some to fill any holes that pop up.   A levee broke in the very southern part of the state near Missouri and one town will have 10 feet of water.  Yikes

Ok time for bed.  I lucked out again.  I forgot they changed a deadline so instead of 30 days before the hearing the briefs are due 15 days before the hearing.  So, I don't have to be in a mad rush to get something filed tomorrow.  phew!
