Had a little excitement on my lunch hour.  I left my building and noticed police cars everywhere.  Some of them were blocking the nearby streets.  Sure enough, a minute or two later the presidential motorcade came by.  The President was in the second limo-  he didn't look out the window--someone said he was probably on his blackberry.

Bruce,

Are you actually involved with this musical YEARBOOK or did they just license one or more of your songs?

http://www.dramaticpublishing.com/p1749/Yearbook:-The-High-School-Musical-(cast-recording-CD)/product_info.html

The folks who created Yearbook came to several LA composers and lyricists and asked us to submit songs - which we did.  I have at least two in the show.  At some point, I linked to You Tube to a song called Three Friends - it's not complete on You Tube but the funny thing is I hadn't realized I'd written it until I heard the tune - unmistakably me - it was so weird.  We get nice ten dollar resids every now and then.

We have three backers now - fun to watch this stuff, one of whom is a dear reader, one of whom is a total surprise, and one of whom was in the staged reading of the show.

Almost time for THE SOUP.

We had a busy day at World of Wisdom today, which is good!  I made enough commission that I could get into the movie business via Kickstarter.....most excellent!

AND said actor decided to stay in the show.....so my cast is complete....such as they are.

Watching a motion picture.  We only have 4,850.00 to go.  Remember, even one dollar helps us reach the Nudie goal.

Elmore, Jose, anybody know anything about the Dramatists Guild of America? They're looking for a director of publications and, other than the name, I don't know anything about them.

I've been a member for many years.  They are very helpful when you need advice or have a problem.

They also put out a newsletter every couple of weeks...and a magazine for members that contains some great articles and interviews.

So...

Tomorrow, I will be going back into Arena in the morning for a few more hours of practice and prep. I've been trying to play through the show at least once a day - and through the ballet at least twice. Just building up my endurance. -Could "The Farmer and the Cowhand" be any longer?!?!? ::)

Then I'll catch the matinee of A Time To Kill. Then I'll bus back up to NYC.

Sunday, I'll spend a few hours going through my storage unit. I mainly need to bring down more clothes. However, if I can drop off a few more things at Housing Works or the Textiles Recycling booth, well, that would be nice too. Then it looks like I'll be attending Broadway Bares Sunday night.

Monday should start off with some storage stuff, and then I will be playing some auditions in the afternoon. Then Monday night I will be attending the Gala Opening Night for Shakespeare in the Park - I won tickets via a Twitter contest the Public Theatre was running.

Then back to DC on an early(!) train on Tuesday morning in time for my first rehearsal at 10:00.

When I get back to my brother's place Tuesday night, I shall sleep(!!!).

In related news...

Since the rehearsals at Arena Stage start at 10:00am - and since I didn't want to deal with the horrendous rush-hour traffic here in DC - I had planned on riding into work with my brother, and then hopping on the Metro by his office. We could take advantage of the HOV-2 lanes. However, since my brother usually leaves for work between 6:30-7:00am, well... -I figured I could use the extra(!) time before rehearsal to practice, read, workout, nap...

For the past few days, I've been taking the 9:37am Fairfax Connector bus to the Vienna Metro station, and then getting to Arena Stage a couple of minutes before 11:00. This morning, I took the 8:45am bus, and got to Arena at 9:50. Well...

There's an 8:15 bus, and I think that's what I'll be taking in to get to rehearsals - just to be safe... Instead of hopping in the car with my brother at 7:00.

Wow, we're up to $720 thanks to eight backers so far, one of whom will be listed as an Executive Producer in the blu-ray credits.

Tell me what you think.  I may add a video very soon if I can figure out how to actually shoot a video by using my Mac desktop camera - if anyone has a clew, let me know.

Shooting a video is very easy on a Mac:

Applications -> Photo Booth -> Click on the "film strip" icon (it's the one of the right)

Then just click on the Camera icon to start recording, then click it again to stop recording.

Then if you want to edit it, open up iMovie...

The interesting thing about Kickstarter is that if you don't meet the monetary goal (in our case, $5000) then the project goes away and no money exchanges hands.

bk - Is there any way to post some "before" and "after" screen-caps on the Kickstarter page?
