I love Mexican food. I don't like it too spicy, which is why I don't like Tex-Mex and New Mexican food

Ride With Larry, the doc that will be made this coming week about my friend Larry who has had Parkinson's for 20 years and is riding his bike across South Dakota, did fundraising on Kickstarter. They met their goal and I think it really helped them

You are kidding, aren't you? Almost everyone who applied works at OHSU--it's about 3 minutes from the Hamilton house. And 5 minutes from the house to downtown Portland.

Craig went to the library for me and picked up four books I had on hold. Of course the first one I want to read is the heaviest, by far, to hold. I think I shall begin with the little book before reading the big one.

Back from everything. First of all, I did get the motor car washed, so that was good - and literally ninety minutes later the gray day disappeared and it was ninety degrees.

The signing was really fun - maybe my fave of all of them. We had about twenty-five people, including some folks I didn't know at all. I read a bit, I answered questions, we had CAKE, I signed (we not only sold the new book, but also the first book in the series and a Benjamin Kritzer even). Of the folks I knew, in attendance were cousin Dee Dee (sans her ever-lovin' Alan, whose back was bothering him - when my back bothers me I tell it to go take a hike and bother someone else), The Singer and her mother, the thirteen-year-old and her folks, dear reader Sam, looking very svelte, Adriana's biggest fan, Miranda, her parents and her friend. someone I went to high school with, film score aficionados Neil Bulk (he's done some work for Kritzerland) and Henry Stanny, our very own Doug Haverty, Illona Simon-Mueller and her ever-lovin' Steven, and our very own Amy and Mark. I'm sure I'm forgetting someone, and then there were the folks I didn't know at all.

We are back from a just-right, short & sweet, memorial service for my Aunt Jo. In addition to the 12 family members, there were several of her neighbors and several of my Mom's friends in attendance. One of Perry's college friends drove in from Pittsburgh, surprising everyone. He's staying the night at the same hotel where the others are and joined us for dinner at the Houston Inn, a popular restaurant not far from the retirement community. My mother held up pretty well, but she's awfully tired. Everyone's going in different directions tomorrow - Richard and me to Lima, my sister's family to play golf, cousins and wives to (I hope) have a little fun.

I have a few

1) He did a restoration on the soundtrack of The Sound Of Music and found a recording Julie Andrews singing "A Bell's Not A Bell Till You Ring It" Where was it supposed to go and why hasn't ever been released (at least to my knowledge) on cd?

2) The cd release of Hello Dolly is minus the Main Titles, "Call On Dolly" "The Waiter's Gallop" exit music etc and shortened versions of Dancing, Put On Your Sunday Clothes etc. Is there a reason why these are not on the cd?

2A) Also at one point in Put On Your Sunday Clothes a woman's is heard singing over the chorus (I don't think it's Streisand.) It happens as they are dancing at the train station and just before the train whistle is heard. The lyrics is "Beneath your bowler brim/The world's a simple song" l was wondering who it is

3) Will STAR! ever make it to Blu Ray?

When I was stretched out in my new recliner earlier, the phone rang and I grumbled all the way to answering it. My grumbling soon turned to delight when I answered it and it was my Uncle Bill - Aunt Jo's ex-husband - calling from Pittsburgh. We'd lost touch when they divorced before Richard and I were married and reconnected at Perry and Jessica's wedding in 2008. He seemed genuinely concerned for everyone here and it was great to talk to him. The cousins are going to visit him next week before coming back here to retrieve the last of the furniture and heading back to Georgia.
