She'd faint dead away at South Pacific, with all that talk about "chinchy bassas." Because, you know, it is supposed to be "stingy stinkers," like the movie.

Greetings one and all!

Still no luck on the job front... Have had a couple of interviews but no offers.

Other than that there has been the ongoing news about floods. ND is getting pounded on the flood front this year: Devils Lake, Red River, Sheyenne,  Missouri, James, and the Souris.

In the case of the Souris, Canada can no longer hold the water back in two reservoirs and has released a LOT of water. Mandatory evacuations have been ordered for Burlington, ND rural areas near the river and half of Minot, ND

It is not a good situation.

I am ready for the floods to  be done and over with. The last three of four years we have had major flooding but this year has been the worst It has been cold and rainy for the better part of the spring.

The lakes are areally high around here. There is just no break from it.

Just had a bit of potentially good news - the audio guy called and he did his test on the other machine, called a one-light machine, which sometimes optimizes sound on older prints - and apparently that really helped and he thinks I'm going to be much happier - so I'll go over there tomorrow evening around seven-thirty to hear, and then we'll use some EQ and filter, get it to sound as good as it can, and he thinks it will basically end up being a real-time transfer, which is fantastic.

Good Evening!

All's Well That Ends Well at The Delacorte was beautiful. Yes, it's one of Shakespeare's "Problem Plays" - it's categorized as a Comedy, but it really isn't one. However, nor is it a out and out Tragedy either. Thus... It's a "Problem". I really hope I can manage to see the other play running in rep this summer, Measure for Measure, on one of my Mondays when I'm back up from DC. We shall see...

*And, it was an absolutely gorgeous night too! On the cool side, with some nice gentle breezes throughout.

Can't win.....

She is wrong, of course.

Yep. She's wrong. -And I bet she was upset at Zaneeta's "Ye gads." -Not the same thing. ;)

Have you considered writing a reply to her via the paper? -Complete with timestamps to match up with the DVD, and an authorized excerpting of parts of the script?

Or you could just send her a complimentary copy of the OCR of The Book of Mormon. ;D

I did not meet MR. Right (not that I was even looking for him), but when I was stuffing a dollar bill down the pants of a very hunky stripper, the guy leaned down, gave me a hug and whispered in my ear asking if I was a top.

And what was your answer, DR MBarnum?

When did flights zoom up like this?  It's absolutely insane, even JetBlue is insane.

bk - It's called Summer Travel Season. Most of the Summer fares kicked in early this year. -Like back in March. Alas, with fuel costs continuing to rise, I'm just not sure how much they're gonna drop after Labor Day. -In other words... Book your Holiday travel now! :-\

I have discovered the coolest thing that I never knew existed, and BK you may want to run right out and get one, too, as it will instantly solve the wireless update problems I helped you overcome with your BD player at your home environment.  There is a company called NetGear that sells these handy dandy little things called HomePlugs.  You plug them into a wall outlet, put an ethernet cable into your router, and then there's another HomePlug you can take to any other room with a wall plug and you can "hard wire" any devices into your LAN with another ethernet cable.  We've been using it all over the house to do firmware updates where our wireless network won't reach and it's been doing great.  Highly recommended.

Welome to 2008, DR JMK!

Back from a jog - whilst doing the jog I received a mid-jog standing ovation.  It was lovely and heartfelt.

OK...

My bags are packed, my alarms are set, and now I'm going to grab a few hours of sleep before I head to Penn Station in a few hours to grab a train down to DC for my first official day of rehearsal for Oklahoma![ 2.0 - The Re-Boot at Arena Stage.

Goodnight.

The Oregonian has confirmed this is the second wettest spring in 117 years of record keeping.  Oy and vey.

It has been one of the wetter springs here also on top of a LOT of snow. The mountains had 200% of their normal snowfall!

Nice photos, Ginny. It must be a relief for it to all be over.

Yes, the worst of it is over, DR Laura.  The cousins and their wives will be here for dinner this evening, but they're bringing the food.  Tomorrow, Jess is flying to Florida to be in a wedding and the guys and Yukko are going to Pittsburgh to see their dad.  They're leaving Perry's truck with what's left of Aunt Jo's furniture in our garage and will be back for it before caravanning back to GA later in the week.

PS -- you look so thin! (Not in a bad way)

Amazing what a difference 30 pounds can make, huh?

Great pictures and wonderful memories...

BTW, you look great!

Well, since the audio guy works the night shift, I just went over there to hear the result of his little test and the news is fantastic - it sounds great, no distortion at all and we're set to go - he'll do the transfer tomorrow and it will be ready for us when we start transferring the picture on Thursday.
