Funny Keith wasn't worried when I flew to Portland for the 1st gathering there.  Bryan dropped me off at DR JMK's & Betsy drove me back to Bryan's.  Maybe it helped Bryan delivered me & knew where I was ;)

Druxy at least might get a kick out of this:  I'm catching up on some reading and cracked open the May/June issue of SCRIPT, the inside cover and first page of which are emblazoned with a two page ad touting their "Big Break" contest.  In a huge font across both pages it states:  CONTEST DEADLINE JUNE 1, 2001.  :)

I forgot! I also saw Alice in NATIONAL LAMPOON'S LEMMINGS with Chevy Chase at the Village Gate. she played Mick Jagger, as I recall.

I followed this with a ;D but it took so long for it to post I had to remove it as DR elmore's post wasn't funny.

Bruce yesterday my physical therapist said it will be 8 weeks before the bruised tendon is healed.  Unfortunately this means I can't go to L.A. in mid July. :(

Back from a four and a half mile jog - I'd only intended to do the four but took a slightly different route that added on the extra half mile.  I do believe I just burned most of that half a lettuce wedge and attendant dressing.

The wonderful Alice Playten has died at sixty-three.

 :'(

My favorite recording of hers were "If Mama Was Married" with Virginia Sandifur on Sondheim: A Musical Tribute and as Mrs. Mayor on the original Seussical.

BK, about your bug bites: check very carefully the bottom sheet of your bed for small blood spots. It sounds like bed bugs to me, and you might have brought them in on your luggage. You wouldn't have a great many bites depending on how heavy the infestation. I had very few bites, just a feeling that there were critters in bed with me.

~~~No Bedbug Vibes for BK!!~~
MBarnum has evidently shut out memories of his many PDX gatherings, probably because he wasn't quite sure where he was.
;D  I also noticed since I was at four of those.   The first one when we were all delighted to find how relaxed & comfortable we were never having met before.  It was Betsy who was extra relieved after you invited all these "strangers" to your house. ;D
That was when I went to "Antiques Roadshow"!
Well, I'm off now to usher for a local dance school's end of the year show.
Be back later!
Saturday morning greetings!  It's our 2-wedding day
I don't think I could get Keith to go to two weddings in one day.
LOL, DR Jane!  Our son was in the first one and the groom in the second one was a former student/Scout of DH Richard's, so he couldn't really get out of either one.  We are home and kind of wedding-ed out.
I suppose it is easier to get out of weddings when you have to travel long distances to them.  I've missed some I would really have liked to have been there for, and in locations I wanted to visit.
The beginning of the month would be easier.  What are the dates?  It would be great if a night for the L.A. locals could be coordinated & our DR's in Arizona could also go.
Welcome twelve GUESTS.  Perhaps one of you would like to pledge to the Nudie Musical Kickstarter campaign?  Perhaps one of you would like to come out of the woodwork and join our merry troupe?
I am quite sure that one of them would love to join our merry troupe (Bobby), but you won't let them!
Thinking about having a little halibut for dinner.  VERY low in calories - 8 oz is under four hundred calories and because I ran so far today I'll still be well under 1000, which actually isn't really enough.
T.O.D.
If you don't count the dinners and the ice cream meetings with former DRs Jed and Ann, I have had three four five six HHW gateherings.
1.)  The first one was in Portland with BK, Jed, Ann, MBarnum, George, JMK, and Betsy.  This was for a book reading and signing that BK was doing.
2.)  Was George, Jane and her DH Keith when they returned from their cruise.  We had lunch on the waterfront.
3.)  A visit with Tomovoz, Colin, George, Jed and Ann during Tom's last U.S tour.
4.)  A short coffee chat with JMK, Jed, Ann, and me when JMK was in town to do a concert reveiw.
5.) A delightful lunch and afternoon with FJL, Skip, George, and me.
6.)  A dinner and then performance of THE BRAIN FROM PLANET X with George in the cast; and viewed by BK, David Wechter, Ann, MBarnum, and me.
Today's rehearsal on stage went very well.
And, thankfully, the copier did not jam either. -And I spent a good chunk of today's rehearsal in the copy room.
But, the stage rehearsal did go well.
