And, of course, Julie held no grudges. She came back the year about that debacle and presented an award and was just as gracious as she could be.

Oh, I quite agree with that... and she should have stayed with that show much longer and forgot about V/V -- which killed her voice! -- in my opinion!

You make it sound like Julie Andrews had the option of staying with the Off-Broadway Putting It Together, which died a quick death in 1993.  Victor/Victoria didn't make it to Broadway until more than two years later, if memory serves.

Yes Jane, We have one other, named Zena Warrior Princess.  Photo attached also part of the yard at one of our previous abodes.

BEEKAY, I have not had a chance to formally welcome you to HHW.  It is wonderful to have another citizen of Oz in our midst.  I hope you can do something about keeping Tomovoz under control -- Colin doesn't seem to be having much luck.

We were on a stretch of the Yakima River right around Thorp.

Jed, I wonder if that is the part of the river that we used to run when I was in school (pre-Ice Age).  Do you start up above Rotary Park?

I don't know, dear Reader Noel! I don't recall.... I thought the length of the run was set up in advance and julie's name was a draw...

That's what I read but then one should never believe what one reads!
I was just trying to say that Sondheim is/was much better material for Julie than V/V was!

Oh... and I now remember that Julie took PUTTING because it WAS a short run and she wanted to be available for V/V which "opening" kept being postponed and postponed and... stop me, please!

Jane - Jeans that fit at the waist are hard to find around here. I find comfortable jeans hard to find, period. So to find ones that are comfortable, not too long on me (you must have that problem, too), fit at the waist AND are hugely discounted (less than half-price) - when I wasn't even looking - just happened to wander into the store - is an Event.

I always wear jeans that fit below the waist -- they don't start out there, but that's where they end up!

Of course I remember Ramar of the Jungle.  Now, who remembers China Smith, one of my favorite childhood TV shows.

Good Evening!

It's been a long day, so...

Pre-show snack - Frappacinos at Starbucks.  Steve just recently started going to Starbucks, so... He had the Double Chocolate Chip Blended Creme, and I had the Java Chip Frap (I needed the caffeine).

Show went very well tonight.  A small, but very appreciative audience - and they even got all the jokes - even the subtles ones.  ("What's for dinner?" "Strudel, pie and fritters...").  Steve loved the show.

Then it was over to the Carlyle Grand Cafe for a post-show dinner.  I had the Barbecue Beef Back Ribs (they come with an incredible mustard-based barbecue sauce, and the most decadent mac 'n' cheese), and Steve had the Pecan Crusted Trout.  Both dishes very good!  And then we split the Flourless Chocolate Waffle - it always seems to taste better each time we get it - which is saying something!

OH!  And I had a great cocktail called an "O, Susannah!" - Raspberry Stoli, fresh lemonade and a splash of Sprite.   I'm going to have to make these by the pitcher!!  Sooo good.

So, now we're winding down watching TV....  Stomachs very content...

And that's all for me for tonight...

Goodnight.

French SLANG, Tom, French slang!

but we love to faire "gringue" to one another, even though it drives you "dingue" like a dingo -- wild dog, you know... our 4 legged friends!

Vous compris? as we say when we speak French as a "Spanish cow"....

No one has answered my question from this morning regarding Ramar of the Jungle.  "Does anyone remember this early fifties TV show?" Shall I take that to mean no one remembers the show?

Well, I wasn't around when the show was on originally but I do have DVD with a couple of episodes of it on there. Haven't watched them just yet, however.

...and China Smith I don't know from!
