Thursday morning greetings!  Today I have a lunch date with DN/Goddaughter Lauren and her Mom to finalize the plans for the bridal shower they're hosting for Mary Linda on August 13.

DR Elmore - fantastic news about the Hilton Head booking!

It's a week run in Hilton Head, Nov 7-14. Since we had talked earlier of  December dates, I wasn't sure if DJ had given me the November date incorrectly.  We'll rehearse here before heading down. I hope we can keep as much of the NYC cast as possible. It will be good to gauge how the show works with an audience, possibly get a recording for future work on the piece.

TOD:

I think I'd go back to Edinburgh.

I was there on a tour back in 1996, and the place fascinated me.  We were there for less than a day, so I'd like to see more of it.

On the other hand, since Scotland released the Lockerbie bomber back to Libya, maybe not.

I was really pissed off at Scotland when they did that.

Maybe I'd just go up to Montana to see the Little Big Horn.

Being a Western buff, I'd enjoy that.

TOD:  Considering the weather in Phoenix this time of year, I think I'd like to be in Cape Code.  Or Cape may.  Or Cape Anne.  Or Cape Horn. Or anywhere but here.

However, I did "call in" today. I was scheduled to play today's understudy rehearsal, but since I'm sure that spending five hours in the frigid air-conditioning* of the theatre yesterday didn't really help me at all, I asked George, my conductor, if he could cover the rehearsal. He was more than happy to let me stay at home and rest and recuperate before tonight's show.

I actually have some minor fixes to take care of in my keyboard part, so I can take care of that today too. -Which is a good thing, since my "sub" goes on this weekend, while I audit the conducting chair.

As for the Topic of the Day...

If I could go back to anywhere I've already been: Melbourne and Sydney, Australia for the food(!), the chocolate(!!) and the people(!!!). I'd also like a few weeks back in the Philippines, but this time centered on a schedule of my own interests instead of familial obligations.

As for places I've never been: New Zealand, and almost anywhere in Europe.

DR elmore - Congrats on the Hilton Head run of the Appalachian Carols project/show! -I'm guessing you'll be playing at the resort there that has a theatre? -That's always seems to be the one place where when someone says they booked a show in Hilton Head, that's where they're playing.
