Well, you've read the notes, the notes played on, and now it is time for you to post until the musical cows come home.

Good morning, all! Today is our first band rehearsal. I'mn a bit nervous since we are dealing with new parts, I had a couple of copyists in whose work I've been finding uncorrected errors in the full score and I don't want the day to be filled with questions about wrong notes. There weill be some, but if the one copyist I am concerned  about - based on a vocal problem in the full score that went uincorrected both times it occurs - made no corrections, it will be a Loooooong Day.

KEEP THEM VIBES COMING!

I heard from the producer this morning that I am keeping my original flight date, so I will have two days to play in Dublin after we finish the recording. I will hopefully attend a conceret conducted by David, maybe run around Dublin with Karl the actor and his friend David, and chill out.

Mega Vibes to Our DR TCB and All In Need!

Around 1988, I suddenly found on my credit card bill a series of charges that maxed out the card. I apparently had been buying shoes, clothing and other fashion accessories all over Milan, Rome, and (I think) Turin. I was not amused, but at that point I had never appplied for a passport so I had veritable proof that I could neither have been in Italy nor have afforded the trip on my meager Drama Book Shop salary.

I'm on the patio on Long Island.

I just finished my oatmeal and coffee.

We will be visiting a friend in Smithtown this afternoon.

It's a quiet, lazy day so far.

DR Jane re: your comments from Thursday night about reading.

My niece is read to a lot. And reads books to herself every day. Even before she could read she would always "read" to herself and look at the pictures. When she was 3 she used to memorize some of her easiest books, which was pretty funny.

Re: my teaching her how to read. I don't really know how to teach anyone how to read. So if i did i didn't do it on purpose.  I sort of think that at first she would just see the words i read and memorize them.

I am enjoying reading about DR Elmore's trip.

I am also enjoying reading about DR DerBrucer getting his grandsons to read. Love how the one grandlad stayed up all night to finish a book. That is awesome!

TOD

It happend it to me two months ago. I was in Canada and got a call from Bank of America. They saw there were two attempted charges on my debit card in Lousiana at wait for it WALMART. Luckily they were declined. But had to get a new card.

Two weeks ago I got another call didn't answer it and called back some agency called to tell me a credit card has been comprimised. Call BOA and told me it wasn't true. I gave them the phone and company name

So how do these people actually use your card? Wouldn't they need the card and the pin number?

I have twice been a victim of credit card fraud.

The first time my card had been used to charge $500 worth of flowers in Texas and a big screen TV ordered by mail to be sent to Alabama - and then, it turns out - overseas.

I filed a police report and made all of the vendor and perp address discoveries myself - and the charges were reversed and my card number changed.

The second time I received a call last summer about a large charge from Florida.....it was reversed and my card number changed.

Terrible.....I watch my balance a couple of times a week.....and GM CARD calls me and emails me if there is a large charge on my card so I know immediately if something is wrong.

On the phone with Walmart - they can't really do anything but are checking the charges now and also told me I have to file a police report and then the police can come to their store and - look at VIDEO.  Excellent VIDEO.  So, maybe we can actually catch these cretins who did this.  I'm getting her all the information she needs - had to call paypal first and get some more details.  She may be gone now - she's the night gal - but she'll be back at seven-thirty tonight and I'll call her then with every piece of information she'll need to find what lane these people were in.  I've also found out some really scary things about how this stuff happens and basically there is little anyone can do anymore to protect themselves from this crap.  It's shocking, actually.

Jennifer, I think they do it so they can ascertain that the card is working.  The Walmart charges that were authorized happened within four minutes of each other at different checkout lanes - so there may be more than one person doing this even in that same location.  The additional charge that was declined happened an hour later.  I gather they can print up as many cards as they like, send them to as many people in as many cities as they like.  I think that cc security is going to have to deal with this in a much stronger way because these people are now so sophisticated that they can stand next to you and scan stuff that's in your wallet.  Apparently they now make wallets that have some sort of protection against this - I'm looking into that.
