In yesterday's sermon, Fr. Richard made reference to Charleton Heston as Moses in THE TEN COMMANDMENTS and today we received that movie from Netflix. He said he'd ordered it to verify that his reference was correct. We're about an hour into it and I find the acting pretty bad.

What a crazy day. Did the four-mile jog, then immediately went to the Studio Cafe to lunch with my editor. Then we came back here and watched a lot of the footage, noting takes and such. He'll now begin his work.

Then I picked up an important envelope, did banking, but one package that was supposed to be delivered today hasn't (it's guaranteed so no cost to me if they're late) - it still could arrive, I suppose - thank you Ontrac, a company that I would never use to ship anything.

Although I appreciate the effect that Josh Logan was striving to achieve, the color in SOUTH PACIFIC is just plain annoying to me. Had he resisted the urge to go all out with each color, and had he gone with more subtlety, he might have achieved an incredible effect.

There was a Chinese movie that Vixdad and I watched a while ago - darned if I can remember the name of it - but it told the same story three times from three different characters perspectives and the colors of everything changes depending on whose story it was - shades of Red of one shades of blue for another and black I beleive fir the thir s - it was very interesting

When I was outside on Friday looking for Rob's keys, our across-the-street neighbor Rosemary brought me 2 of her home-grown tomatoes. Richard and I just had them for dinner and they were delicious!

Speaking of China, THE LAST EMPEROR had some incredible uses of color. The film was still as dull as rocks to me, but the color was nice.
