we are actually in a relatively good location hurricane wise - quite central about 10 miles south of the north shore and 6 miles north of the south shore so we should get hit with the street flooding or contend with the waves like the people on the shores will (the advantage of not being wealthy - we can't afford a waterfront house or a vacation home on Fire Island - but it appears the eye of the storm is expected to go right over my house

Back from all the stuff. Had a good work session with the gals - mail wasn't even sorted at one o'clock so I have no idea if the important envelope arrived - I guess I'll check tomorrow.

Had a nice visit with some film score enthusiasts at a very annoying Japanese jernt in the Hollywood + Highland complex. Hugely expensive place called Koji's where one gets the joy of cooking one's own food (Shaba Shaba it's called). I had the chicken breast. It arrives in very thin strips and you stick it in boiling water for ten or fifteen seconds then dip it in a sesame mustardy sauce and eat it. Not thrilling - basically boiled chicken, maybe one breast's worth of white meat, some veggies and a small cup of rice. Can't be many calories there.

Then I saw the early 1950s TV version of Anything Goes with Ethel, Frank and Bert. It was terrible but fun. They just called it anything goes, and added every Cole Porter hit and a few things from the stage show, all in fifty minutes. Then it was an IB Tech 35mm print of Call Me Madam - as always, his projector bulb rendered everything yellow.
