Good morning, all! I had Dublin dreams most of the night and slept in late, past 8:00. My last dream was about returning to Middletown, OH - I can't remember if my dad was in the dream ornot - but I do remember that I had a huge fight with mybrother Macbeth about his stupidity in marrying a woman that the entire world abominated and that I was stranded on Central Avenue with no vehicle.
Last night I had dinner with my dear friend Bruce Pomahac at a Columbus Avenue restaurant, The Blue Caravan. The food was quite good but I found the service intrusive; we had too frequent visits from the owner, two waitresses - one European and one Japanese - and the busboy, and we were unsure if one waitress had taken the order when another turned up - or the owner did - with a question about taking our order again. Everyone there spoke English as a second language and that made things difficult at times; Bruce had to ask the waitress three times what one of the specials was before we figured out it was asparagus. Still, the food was quite good.
Today, I have few plans before 2:30 or so. I will walk down to the 68th Street cineplex, maybe do some window shopping on the way, meet Charlotte there and see THE HELP. Once she knows her weekend schedule, we can plan to see OUR IDIOT BROTHER. Today is her first day of employment at a restaurant around the corner from her home, so I wish her luck with that.
