TOD:

Book: And Then There Were None - the first Christie book which I read before reading many more and the one I enjoyed best.
Play: The Mousetrap - the only Christie play which I've seen so it has to be that one.
Film: Witness for the Prosecution - great story and great performance from Charles Laughton.

TOD

My favorite Agatha Christie film is: Murder on The Orient Express. Great actors. Great production design. Wonderful music by Richard Rodney Bennett.

Of course, we can't see the Kim Novak - Liz Taylor verbal catfight from MIRROR CRACK'D often enough, so here it is yet again

terrible night. Had an allergy attack and the pills wouldn't kick in. Felt lousy until about 3 a.m. Not a lot of work done while awake, either.

Feel better, John.   Hope you can make time for a nap, given that it's Saturday,

TOD: When I was in the fifth grade, I went through an intense Agatha Christie/Erle Stanley Gardner phase. Read dozens and dozens of their books and just couldn't get enough of them. I don't remember plots, but I do recall a few of the books that I liked and the characters, such as Tommy and Tuppence.

The Mysterious Affair at Styles
By the Pricking of My Thumbs
The Murder of Roger Akyroyd
Murder on the Orient Express
And Then There Were None
N or M?
Murder Is Easy
The Seven Dials Mystery

Films:
Evil Under the Sun
Murder on the Orient Express
Margaret Rutherford as Miss Marple in all of those movies

I forgot all about WITNESS FOR THE PROSECUTION.

Great movie!

Laughton steals the show.

I like that one too and I especially like the addition of the nurse which is not in the novel

The latter Peter Ustinov movies with him as Poirot were IMHO not especially well done. I don't know if it was the adaptions or the direction, but his films like Appointment By Death were predictable.

Ok, Photo time.  First this one is for Ginny....can you guess the patterns  ;D

LOL - I love you guys for doing this!  Jose has Safari Sunset and Priscilla has Suzani.  I can't make out what Kevin is holding and the ship network won't let me enlarge the photo - I'll try when we get to Reims.

We are back from a short tour of Trier and about to sail to our final destination, Remich, Luxembourg.  While sailing we have the gala captain's reception and dinner.  And packing...

I once played for Peter Ustinov in a tony hotel lobby lounge piano setting.  He was quite charming.
