Tonight, the other fairy tale series begins: GRIMM at 9:00 on NBC. I'm looking forward to it.

Filmed in little ol' Portland and featuring some friends of mine in bit roles.

Got an email from Peter Filichia about the demise of his column. For those who are disappointed that theatermania.com has dropped his column and want to voice their displease, he suggested the following:

(Write) to editorial@theatermania.com
Then, notice at the very top of the front page, there’s a tiny blue banner that says “Click here to check out the NEW Theatermania.com BETA.” Once you do, you’ll see an orange bar at the lower right hand corner of the screen that says “Feedback.” If you’d put your message there, too, I’d be grateful.

So, that's that.

I know that after Ken Mandelbaum's column disappeared from Broadway.com, it was not worth checking out that site, and I think theatermania.com will be much the worse without Filichia's. Regardless of what your opinions of his opinions are, he is sparking discussion. And that's good.

I was just going to post this info. I've done everything I can. so let's keep the ball rolling.

I'm ready to begin the next chart, and I'm checking out some of the old pieces of music from May.

I wrote Mr. Filichia yesterday when I heard and offered him a column on the Kritzerland site.  We're trying to work it out.

I'm up - got almost eight hours of sleep.  If I'm to jog it will have to be in thirty minutes or so.  Looks like a pretty day out.

that's a good idea; it may even bring us new DRs for HHW, and that's a good thing.

If all goes according to Hoyle (just waiting for confirmation, but details have been worked out), Mr. Filichia and his column will become a regular part of Kritzerland.  I would have done it here at haineshisway.com but I can't do it until the site is completely redone because our technology is so far out of date and there's no one who cares to deal with anything new here, content-wise.

P.S. The fools at Theatremania have decided to drop Peter Filichia's column. Today was his last one.

Methinks Betsy and I are going to refinance the new house with this new ING Direct Easy Orange product where (I'm not kidding) interest is only 2.75% for 5 years and you can prepay as much as you want.  At the end of 5 years you either have a balloon or can refinance (with more closing costs, tied to what your bi-weekly mortgage payment is).  With the amount we'll overpay and with that interest rate, we'll have this house mostly paid off in 5 years, at least that's my hope.  But I hate having to collect all the paperwork to jump through the refinancing hoops.

Good luck, JMK!!

I've been watching a streaming version of the 1937 film "Sh! The Octupus" which the Warner Bros Archive has just made available to view until midnight today. I've never heard of the film before but apparently it's been on TCM.

I'll have to check this out at home before I go to the show tonight. :)

It's been a very long time since I've gotten that much sleep on a regular basis, too...a VERY long time. ::)

I am gobsmacked again department:  just like when we bought this house, ING prequalified us and approved the loan without me needing to provide any of my self-employment income, which is much (as in MUCH) larger than my W2 salary income.

DR Vixter, sorry to hear about your bite. I actually was thinking while reading it that i couldn't believe you were going to stick your hand in there and not just dump it out.

I actually don't really like squirrels. But I was traumatized over the summer by maybe killing one.

I was driving. And unfortunately my sister and niece were driving behind me.  The strangest thing happened. I've never seen anything like it. Two squirrels were playing and they literally jumped into the middle of the street.

There are lots of squirrels here. And they usually ran across the street. But these 2 squirrels were on the side. And in one jump they somehow were right in front of the car.

I wasn't really sure what to do. Do i try to stop (then my sister might go into me).

If there hadn't been anyone behind me i might have tried to stop. But i actually thought that if i just went straight that the squirrel would be in the middle and not get hurt. But unfortunately it seemed partially hurt.

I don't know what squirrel protocol is (do you call someone?).

Anyways the worst part was that my niece saw it. She was upset, as was i. She told me "just don't think about it". I actually could not stop thinking about it for many weeks. :(

What your niece said was very sweet though I know not possible to do.  Squirrels aren't all that bright so I'm surprised you expected them to move, not that you really could have done anything different.

I have had squirrels go under my car unharmed.  You really never know which way they will run.
