Here's a beautiful 2 minutes of Fall Colors from The University of Michigan.

This brings back fond memories.

Dear DR Doug, my daughter wants to know if you celebrated Guy Fawkes Day.

DR Laura - I used to love celebrating Guy Fawkes Night (or bonfire night as we used to call it) when younger but it's not something I usually celebrate now. In the past it was very common for just about every house to have bonfires and fireworks in their gardens (sorry - yards!) but bonfires are discouraged nowadays so people tend to go to public firework displays instead. Although there's been a decline in celebrating Guy Fawkes, the opposite has happened with Halloween which is a big event nowadays, yet when I was young, Halloween was hardly celebrated at all.

Interesting. :)

Ding, ding ding, we have a winner!!!  Walking pneumonia or "something similar" in the inimitable words of my doctor.  What a morning of glitches, though.  The check-in clerk's computer kept crashing, which means it's "probable" I'll have several duplicated charges for my co-pay, and then evidently due to that glitch, the computer didn't "tell" my doctor I was there, despite my having already seen his nurse and had my vitals checked, so I sat in the waiting room for 40 minutes before I came out in the hall and started raising a ruckus.  Then there was another delay waiting for my flu shot, then because I had to pick up drugs for my illness, I went to the pharmacy at the local store to discover they wouldn't be open for another 15 minutes and that it would be a 30 minute wait after that.  Oy and vey and also vey and oy.
Vibes for quick recovery.

Woke up to find that DC Daisy had vomitted a hairball (again) on the duvet (known as a comforter in the US I believe). More laundry to be done after yesterday's session!

My cat is never so polite to vomit on something that can be put in a washing machine.  Usually, it's the carpet or wherever she happens to be at the moment that it happens. :P

Due to some very heavy fog at Dulles, we ended up taxiing on the tarmac for about 45 minutes. We made up some of the time while in the air, and landed just 20 minutes later than scheduled. Then after claiming my luggage, I took a couple of minutes to get myself situated, and the rest of my day planned.

I am in beautiful warm Hilton Head, keeping an eye out for alligators  and  bummed because there is no available computer in our housing. I don't think the director of the theatre was thrilled to find me at a theatre computer checking my email, so I may be E&T the remainder of the trip.

The flight to Charleston was terrible, thanks to a moronic checkin clerk who screwed everything up. I hope the soldiers' luggage arrived with them wherever they were going and not in Savannah. I suspect her ass is in a sling today.  I hope so anywaY.

The theatre is lovely and the housing is very nice. In 15 minutes we're seeing 10 local children for the roles of Duncan and his sister Alice Ann.

Keep them vibes coming!

My, we are a bunch of world travelers, aren't we?  I traveled to a really weird, subterranean section of the house today that had all these strange furnaces and other machinery I didn't know were here--courtesy of the three hour nap I just woke up from!

I saw a really great comedy not too long ago.  Good cast, good timing.  It was called NEVER TOO LATE, but I can't remember the star's name.

Here is my bitch of the day.

Watched the local news. The news included two "celebrity items" in the who really cares. Whatever happened to real news.

1) The Michael Jackson doctor.
2) The 20 year old woman saying that Justin Beaver was the father of her child.

I know how to end this. Arrest the woman having sex with a minor. Threaten her with putting her on the sexual offenders database.

I think I have relayed the story of my brother-in-law, who was a VP of both Glaxo and Pfizer, and how we quizzed him as to how they came up with these ridiculous drug names.  We thought there was some sort of etymological committee that decided them, but, NOOOOO, it's just some marketing clown who has to choose a name that's not similar to any other drug.

Please tell him that we especially like the name "Ass Effects."

Woke at six to find Time Warner down again. Called, was given the usual runaround. First they said it was supposed to have been fixed already, then that changed to sorry still down. Took my car in and sent the eBlast frm the iPad. Happy to say that our views more than doubled overnight. Of course all the views that occurred during the freeze are never counted. CDs arrived but helper is coming back from out of town and won't be here till after eleven. I doubt that everything will get shipped today as she forgot to tell me we were short on boxes. More boxes arrive tomorrow and I'm sure we won't have enough for everything today.

Well, it is a Chitty job, but someone has to do it.

I'm home.... It was a very long day....I got up at 4:00AM, left here about 4:45 AM...everything was smooth and on time, it was just miles and miles and miles to the first appointment, then miles and miles to the second, then miles and miles and miles to get home.  I drove a total of 613 miles and was gone about 13 1/2 -14 hours.  L-O-N-G day...
