Thursday morning greetings!  Getting ready to go for this week's blood test.  Some 2+ INR vibes would be appreciated.  After I leave the vampire's lab, it's off to Kroger and then home to make caramel corn to donate to a bake sale and prepare dinner for Richard and our dear niece/goddaughter Lauren.  We haven't seen her since Rob and Mary Linda's wedding and we have to hear all about her December graduation plans and the internship she has lined up in Orlando, starting in January.
Vibes on the test. Hope you pass with bloody flying colors.

Not only did I immediately know what "LSMFT" meant, I had an immediate image pop up of Dorothy Collins in front of the cigarette brand's "logo" on a popular music show of the early 1950s...a logo out of which she and Snooky Lansen and Giselle McKenzie and Russell Arms used to appear weekly.  And at Christmas, a wreath encircled the logo.

Yes, there's not mail tomorrow.  No work tomorrow.   And, SIGH, no "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part II" Blu-ray disc delivery....until Monday.  Got my shipping notice last night with a delivery date of tomorrow.  Ha Ha.

This morning is the two-hour dental appointment.  Having two crowns (upper and lower back teeth on the left side) replaced.   Shouldn't be too bad, I don't reckon.   The right side of my face, however, remains a bit sore from the sinus lift of two weeks ago.  My dental surgeon pronounced that healing was moving forward nicely.  Healthy pink gums.  But...it will be five months before talk can begin about implants.

Aaaaaargh.  For the second time this damned netbook has shut down to install a Windows update without alerting me first.  I have for the second time lost tons of work on a review since Word doesn't "react" to these shutdowns normally, saving items as recoverable files.  I've gone into Windows Update and told the frigging thing to stop doing this without my approval.  We'll see if it listens.  :)

On all of my "regular" computers, I get an alert asking me if I want to restart, and I can choose whether or not I want to.  This stupid thing just goes ahead and does it with no warning.

Listening to a fun 1962 Les Baxter CD of film themes.  Yes, part of my MUTINY ON THE BOUNTY kick, though this particular release has at least a couple of BK/Kritzerland connections.

DR JOSE take your hands off the keyboard long enough to take some rehearsal photos!

DR JRand - Well... Once I stop having to page-thru - and organize - my book in order to find the next song we'll be rehearsing, I should have some time to take some pics. ;)

*That was sort of an in-joke for bk. Sorta. ::)

As for the Topic of the Day...

My current favorites from the "Lost in Boston" and "Unsung Musicals" are the ones I don't have to transpose or re-write out.

Thanks for the vibes - the blood test went fine.  Now we wait for the late-afternoon phone call from the doctor's office with the results.

The grocery shopping didn't go so well - I was invisible at the deli counter and had to speak up or would still be standing there, the self-checkout shortchanged me $2.45 and I had to see the cashier, and the crate that I keep in the back of my car must have stayed in Cincinnati when Rob borrowed the Vibe over the weekend.

Maybe I need a nap...

I received my copy of BLACK ZOO in the mail today......a Herman Cohen production starring Mr Michael Gough and Mr Rod Lauren, I shall watch it later today.

I have also ordered a book by Mr Tom Lisanti titled DUELING HARLOWS about the brouhaha that occurred in 1965 when producer Joseph E Levine decided to produce Harlow starring Carroll Baker and producer Bill Sargent decided to produce Harlow starring Carol Lynley......included are some new interviews with Lynley (not from Baker) and a few others involved in one of the productions or the other........   And some archived information from Baker and others......

I think that the Mssrs. Levine & Sargent ran into each other that year at the Golden Globe Awards and ended up in a fist fight - THAT'S Show Business!!!

I have to say that "hardest" part of being in Los Angeles this time round is adjusting to the "lag" or "reverse lag" in regards to Facebook and Twitter. -And even here on HHW. It's amazing just how East Coast-centric my social media feeds are.

*I'm also still a bit befuddled by watching "The Today Show" knowing that's it's on a three-hour tape delay.
